$65 seems to be a magic number for me on Priceline. Got this one on my first try as well.
Listed online at $169.

Got this on first try. Looks like Priceline moved this up to 4 star pretty recently (some reviews on tripadvisor.com said there were recent renovations).
Price on Hyatt website was $169.

Checked online and found this for $120. Decided to start a little low, thinking I might get it for $79... but got accepted on first try. I also thought I might get Palmer House, because that was online at $109... but oddly enough I just checked again and Hyatt is $120 and Palmer popped up to $139 (on Expedia).
I do hear that parking is $39 a night, but still a pretty good deal for 3 nights in Chicago...

Started with bid of $48 after seeing success with Hyatt at that price. Unfortunately, I didn't have the same luck. Kept adding other areas and $3 or $5 each time. Finally got it at $63. I think the last bad bid was $58.

Meant to say that I added the airport zone to my second attempt... not the hotel zone.
I tried to go for this hotel at $58 after reading the posts here. It was denied, but said I could do a free attempt if I was willing to increase my bid by $17.
Instead I retried by adding the hotel zone (which doesn't have 3 star properties) and by raising my bid to $65. It was accepted.
Thanks for all the advice on hotels and strategy. I cashed in some frequent flier miles, so airfare and hotel for 7 nights in Hawaii is costing me just under $570.
Thanks again,
paul

This seemed to be a tough day. I tried priceline many times and couldn't land anything reasonable. So, I assume this rate is a little high.
