If you are ok with Modern then you can start bidding on the RESORT with ZONE selected as Waikiki Marina. If you want RESORT/4* on Waikiki beach, then you will have to select the ZONE Waikiki Beach. (But then you can get Hyatt also).

Zone 7 -Waikiki Beach Area -> RESORT

Dates are firm now just booked the air fare for above mentioned days. Let me know what can be my best options for RESORTS in waikiki. 1) Still Hilton hawaiin village the first pref. (i know I wont be able to get it in Marina zone) 2) Hyatt/Marriot/Outrigger preferred for Waikiki Beach. Lets see what i get for my bid :)

As of now the dates will be 99% (Dec05-Dec08-2011). I will prefer Hyatt or outrigger is possible, but worst case i am open to any RESORT in the Waikiki beach Zone(7) of Priceline. Max bid 135-150 before 30$ resort fees. Appreciate your inputs

Yes the reason i wanted to ask this question as I didn't see this RESORT in winning bids list for many bidders and i don't want to get stuck with the "MODERN" resort. Can you advice on the Waikiki Beach resorts like outrrigger in Zone7? Any specific way i should bid. I am looking for first week in December

I am planning to visit waikiki in december and need inputs to get the winning bid for Hilton Hawain Village if possible. 1) Should i select the "RESORTS" or 4*in Waikiki Marina area? 2) What is the probability that I can get the MODERN which is also considered as "RESORT". Any inputs will be appreciated.

Today finally we got the deal on this hotel, my wife was trying the luck on this particular one and boom we got it for 155$. The price range for these days are actually 299 per night. She didnt start from lower bid so looks like we could have got it for cheaper also as 120$ is the lowest i have seen. The main reason i wanted to stay@ this resort was due to the infinity pool and its the newest renovated resort :). Aloha :)

I guess you are correct the main reason the prices are not going down for this resort is due to the Long weekend....if we pick some other week, there will be more probability for getting lower bids. ......but this is the only time i can take off and go 2 hawaii so looks like i have to shed good amnt of $$ if i didnt get nething in kanappali also ...:)

tried using the 4* and Resort but still no luck. Today the prices shown were crazy median price was shown as 399$/day i guess it was typo ..neways still trying ...

Within few days i will start bidding @ kanappali resorts as Wailea Marriot is not bugdeing for my bid :)

Update as per July 28th, still lost all the bids for RESORT in Walia, targetting Marriot. I am going to select 4* as looks like all the sites puts it in 4*domain.....ah ..another day of unsuccessful bids :) ... any other suggestions or inputs welcome

Yes i guess as the following week is long weekend may be the visitor rush will be more, so i am not sure if we will be seeing lower inventory for this hotel. My friend just went last month in first week and was able to get the same resort(Marriot) for 120$/per nite. i will keep on trying and see if i get anything but things are not looking promising as its like 1 week for me on the bidding with no luck :) I will big till 2nd Week of Aug and keep on trying my luck. ........i dont want to spend more then 150$/per nite ( i will try kannapali resorts also ...)

Increased the bid to 160$/nite but still didnt get any luck @ the RESORT selection of priceline. Looks like for these dates they dont have any low room rates inventory. I will be trying everyday and updating ...:)

I may consider that doing after a week or so if i dont get any resort. I will start including the kanapalli area resort also to see if i get lucky there .... untill then the bidding is on ...lets see

Tried again today with same failure, today increased the rate to 150$ same crap rejected. :) I guess for these dates there is no low price rooms opened as i am still seeing people getting room on different dates for 120$ ...:o ..

Can you share which dates did you win the bid for?

tried again for the resort in walia - makena area no luck, the highest bid i added was for 140$/nite. I will updated again if luck favours me :)

I am trying the early days from sept1-5 and not getting luck yet. I bid upto 145$ still didnt help. i will keep on trying and i have another priceline maui thread which i opened for updates ....let me know if you get any luck and vice-versa for me :) happy bidding.

Yes i am bidding every day as i have good amount of time on my hands...i will keep the forum posted with my results.
