  1. Started bidding at $77, used 4 rebids. Used the PRICELINE link here, thanks for this great site!
  2. Using the PRICELINE link here, I started at $88 using 6 of the free rebids adding $3-4 each time. A relative of mine is also visiting PR during the same time frame and had already won this hotel at this same price. Had hoped to come in lower, but happy with this win...Now if a storm doesn't knock it down between now and then:-/
  3. Started bidding at $35 and was rejected. Free re-bid at $37, rejected. I think there are better offers in north Scottsdale, but I really needed to be in the Happy Valley area. 24 hours later started at $38 and received "get the room now for $15 more" offer. Rebid again at $41 and was successful. Used the PRICELINE link here, thanks for a great service!
  4. Stayed one night (11/21) prior to departing from BMI. Gorgeous hotel and on this particular Sunday night, we seemed to have the place to ourselves. Super quiet and peaceful atmosphere! Front desk was warm and courteous, stated our room was "prepaid" and that SPG (Starwoods Points) were already added to my account! We had a rental car to return prior to an early Monday morning flight so the rep at the front desk told us to call the hotel from the rental car drop off and the hotel shuttle would pick us up there, no need to ride back to the airport. We did as she suggested. The hotel shuttle driver was super friendly, eager to answer any questions. We had a light dinner in the hotel restaurant/bar with what may have been the best martini I've had in decades!! The room was lovely with contemporary furnishings and a wonderful comfy bed and bath. The hotel is very young and super spotless. LOVE the green tea fragrance bath products and that same scent greets you at upon arriving at the hotel. Ahh...all in all a 5 star stay, no complaints at all. The in room coffee maker was excellent and the crack of dawn shuttle ride was easy. Would love to stay there again!
  5. Hotel address is 1110 Old Elkridge Landing Road Linthicum, Maryland. I was bidding for a one night stay. Started at $42. Priceline offered a room if I'd raise my bid to $57. Declined that offer and rebid a buck each time to $48. Offer accepted. Was hopeful that a "dead" Sunday night might go at a lower rate than I'm seeing in other bids, oh well, nice hotel at a decent savings. Used PRICELINE link, thanks again for this valuable service!
  6. The physical address of this hotel is 400 Gulf Stream Way in Dania Beach. I've been at this "group leader task" for weeks now and I can't even recall how many bids I've placed with no success. I started my bidding tonight at $55 for a 3* in FLL airport area. Rejected, but I was at least advised to up my offer now to $70 for a win. That has not happened in any previous bidding attempts. I declined courteously and instead I rebid $61 after adding FLL North and 3.5 stars. Won at $61. Bottom line for the 3 rooms $213.78. Online rates are $129 per room before taxes, so as long as the rooms are clean and beds comfy, I'm ok with it. Hotel shows 2 queens or 1 king per room, so that's a pleasant perk. Who even owns a double bed these days?!? Used the PRICELINE link here. Thanks again to all who manage this site and to those who report their successes! I fully expect prices to plummet now...
  7. This hotel features the following amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access
  8. After weeks of unsuccessful bidding on Priceline I grew impatient and went with Hotwire instead. Booked 4 rooms for a total of $331.90 or $82 per room with taxes and fees. Glad to get the Crowne Plaza, it appears to be shiney and new, always a bonus. Hotel website doesn't mention complimentary breakfast, that's the only bummer I can see! Best rate on the CP website is $169, when pre-paid. I used the HOTWIRE link here, really appreciate the info on this site, can't imagine ever paying rack rates!!
  9. Again, I'm bidding for 4 rooms, we could break out into two groups with two rooms each if that would help secure a better rate. Best rate I'm seeing (before taxes, etc) online for the Hyatt Place South is $129 ($116 if prepaid, non-refundable). I've bid $60, would go as high as $68 for 3* or higher with airport shuttle. If it weren't for the winning bids already posted, I'd assume I was booking too far out. I'm still searching for info on this site, if it's known, that tells if there is a limit to the percentage of Priceline rooms available at a given hotel, OR if all rooms are ultimately up for Pricelining, at the hotel's discretion... I've never bid for 4 rooms before so I have no experience there. In years past, I've successfully bid for two rooms though with no problem. Is a hotel likely to offer the last dozen rooms at a steep discount to fill them or do they rather risk 6 empties to fill 6 at their higher online rates? Thanks again for your help! LOVE this site, wish I could speed read through the info and "know it all"!
  10. Date is Dec 4, one night at 3* FLL airport locations. Winning bid for the same date, same locale, according to the BB calendar, was $48. Online prices at those 3* hotel websites have gone up $20 in less than a week! Captain obvious here assumes demand must have increased!
  11. Our cruising group needs 4 rooms in FLL for one night in December. I've bid exactly the same prices $48 and $50 (based on the WINS posted on cool Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins here) and was declined at both rates. I'm tempted to try again but this time only bidding for two rooms. If so, does the 24 hour rule apply or would that be considered a new bid? Priceline is a lot like my computer, I love it when it works...ready to drop kick it when it doesn't! Grrrr...
  12. You are absolutely right about the chlorine smell and kiddie noise! I've lived in Phoenix a few years and actually stayed at the Crowne Metrocenter on house hunting trips. During our home/neighborhood searches I ran across some local crime stats showing that area as a problem. People I've met who've lived here many years refer to the Metrocenter Mall as "The Ghetto Mall" apparently due to the crime in the area. This hotel is right on IH-17, the only north south freeway heading out of Phoenix. I'm sure the hotel has a security presence but some people just don't think about being crime victims when they travel. It only takes one episode to make you mindful...
  13. We stayed two nights at the Westin over the July 3-5 holiday. No resort fees and free self parking. No mention of Priceline but the front desk rep asked for my Starwood member number and added the stay to my account. My husband said valet is complimentary part of the time, but I don't recall the details. The hotel was pretty full, lots of families, tons of kiddos! The lazy river was more of a meandering stew of humanity, so we spent our time at the quieter spa pool nearby. We didn't have to wait long to secure a couple of lounge chairs, bar service was a tad slow but the servers were nice and attentive once they came around. Plenty of complimentary pool towels and ice water. Temps were in the low 100's all weekend. Our room was lovely and we were surprised to have a bathroom with separate tub and shower. Wifi is not complimentary. The bed was comfy but I think the mattress was original equipment and nearing the end of its shelf life. After 9 am Monday morning we could hear hammering sounds upstairs. The bellman told us as we were leaving that the hotel was beginning some upgrades and that we probably were hearing new carpet being installed. Housekeeping staff did a fine job of keeping the room spotless and well stocked. Any staff member we passed spoke to us and seemed genuinely happy we were there! Did not eat at any dining spots, had some delicious drinks on the golf course facing Canyon courtyard while enjoying the bagpiper wind the evening down. After dark, the temps were actually bearable there with the misters spraying and the lush lawn area giving off some cooling moisture. We saw lots of kids rolling down the hills enjoying expending the last of their day's energy supply! Dive in movies at the main pool appeared to be another popular place to spend the evening. Great visit, would be glad to stay at the Westin anytime!
  14. If you haven't already, you might want to call ahead and find out if there are resort fees and/or parking fees. Not much you can do about either, but I think it's better to know ahead of time rather than be surprised at check in... Wonder what was up with the Westin? I won with priceline for $80/night over July 4 weekend as did others. Go figure! I hope you will give us a review after your stay at the Princess! If you aren't from AZ, we are still enjoying the "dry" heat, no monsoon humidity....yet!
  15. RATS, I DID click on the PRICELINE link here before bidding....did that not take me to the correct Priceline page? ~OAB
  16. Using other helpful posts:), and the knowledge that this Westin is the ONLY 4 star in N Scottsdale (so far), I started at $70 and used 4 free rebids, looks like nothing less than $80 will win. I did call the front desk before bidding. I asked if there would be any resort fees for bookings made through third parties such as Priceline. I was told there was never a resort fee AND free parking! YAY! I live in the PHX area but this will be our first mini stay-cation. Wonder if the price will come down for bids made last minute just to fill the place to capacity? Still a rough economy here...
