  1. I've often assumed that if you wait until the last day (or at least close thereto) to bid on a room at Priceline, that you'll wind up with a better price. My reasoning is that the hotels are more desparate when it comes down to the last day and they still have unbooked rooms (which would just go to waste otherwise). Is this reasoning sound? Has anyone ever tested whether or not they can get lower rates by waiting, because all in all I'd rather book earlier if its going to be the same price, but I am willing to wait until the last minute (and even risk not getting the hotel I want) if it save me money.
