1. Tried $60.. nope. Win at $62. $78 with tax. With the dollar exchange, it requires more research, but still about a $70 Can. savings.
2. Another Holdiay Inn YVR win. Close to the lowest I have paid yet. It is a comfortable, quiet hotel that DOES offer complimentary shuttle even if Priceline says it doesn't. It is one of the more distant hotels from the airport, but 10-15 minute shuttle ride isn't too bad. ps. i used the the Betterbidding PRICELINE link.
3. Tried 3.5 stars at $60 without success and decided a lowball offer of $48 for 3*.. Boom.. Stayed here before and comfortable, though slightly away from skytrain..
4. started at 69 , to 80, to 84.. Early flight so really wanted the close proximity of the Delta. Used your PRICELINE link. Thanks for the forum. Helpful as always.
5. Just a follow up.. Put us on the 6th floor by the elavator. Unfortunate priceline treatment but was too tired to complain at the time. Wish we did as the sound of the elevator motor and cables kept us awake all night.. Other priceliners, do not put up with this.. complain as there is no excuse.
6. originally started looking for 3.5 star starting at $65 and going up to 69.. Noticed the $57 express deal for 3 star and decided to slum it a little. Got it with first try with 53. Stayed at this hotel before and it is comfortable and quiet though it is farther away from airport than most listed hotels.
7. Got stung attempting find a 2.5 star downtown Portland hotel by adding the Northwest zone, but unfortunately Priceline has upgraded La Quinta to 2.5 stars and Better Bidding still has it as 2 stars, and I unexpectantly won that hotel. Hotel itself is decent, clean and pretty quiet but has outdated CRT tv's in some rooms (mine), bathtub was chipped and had a slightly worn feeling to it. Not what I would consider 2.5 stars. The worst part is that it is located a couple miles into an industrial area along the rail tracks.
8. Decent deal, but I was hoping for something closer to the gate. Cookie or not, it is a long walk when the shuttle is a wait. Started at 45 for 3.5star. Tried 48 with a free bid then dropped to 3 stars and won with 2nd try (43 first).
9. Blam - one try.. Didn't have much time to mess around and I tried a few days ago at around $50 without luck. Stayed here couple times before and have liked it every time.. as long as u are not parking a car.
10. Got it with one try.. Was for my parents and they specifically wanted Red Lion, so was pretty happy with the win. Felt like $56 was a pretty safe bet for middle of the week.
11. using your PRICELINE link, I purchased yet another stay with Delta. Took a few bids working my way up, but got it at $64. Not bad, but I was aiming for 60 since someone on the forum was able to get a night recently for that price. Hopefully they don't try to stick me in that same drab room they always try to put priceline bidders. The staff have always been more than happy to change it for me though, but I really think they shouldn't do that.
12. first bid was for 2.5 stars at $50, denied.. 2nd attempt for $52(us) for 2 stars accepted for the Comfort Inn. Hotel seems like a 2 star. Beds are not pocket spring and air seems a little stale. Otherwise the service was very friendly and access to the room is very convenient on ground floor thanks to patio doors that open. Also, no charge for pet.
13. Appears to be a new hotel to the list. Reviews seem to be mixed, so we will see. If it is bad, I will leave a review of the hotel on betterbidding. Normally try to stay at 3*, but everything seems to be pricey right now. oh, and i left out the name in the title - Redmond Inn (Redmond)
14. tried $70 for a 3.5* in yvr area - offered hotel at $90 - no thanks tried $65 for 3 and whalla - four points.. Tried the same yesterday but at $10 less for each bid with no success
15. Looks like there is a new hotel to be added in the 2.5* class. Was thinking I was going to get Holiday Inn, but got Holiday Inn Express. First try was 3.5* for 56 dollars - no go Second try was 3* for 50 dollars - no go Third try was 2.5* for 50 dollars and new hotel not on the list. Judging by the reviews and the proximity to sky train, I think I will be satisfied.
16. Used the Betterbidding PRICELINE link.. Got it on 2nd try.. first try was $62
17. Vancouver Coast Airport Inn.. 1st attempt at $50 was denied. set star level to 2.5 instead of 3 and tried same amnt.. got it.. Used the PRICELINE links from better bidding.
18. first try at 4* and $75 rejected second try for $80 and 3.5 * accepted
