Thanks.
We've actually taken a look at this, and we'd like to stay at any modern 5 star (preferences are Park Hyatt, Conrad or Andaz), and just a little bit special because this is probably going to be the last big trip we're going to have for quite some time. To clarify my thinking, there are some like the Dai-ichi on the hotel says it's 5 star, but it really isn't. Going off the better bidding lists, we also couldn't do the Intercontinental Tokyo Bay (too far), prince sakura (doesn't seem 4.5 stars to me), prince park tower (also doesn't seem very 4.5)
The other choice we were looking at staying at is cerulean tower tokyu hotel, which I think are the following: (a) (given my knowledge of the area) either the 4 star in Shibuya on priceline, or ( B) on hotwire http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?showtopic=181488
On the question of bidding, i can see that the only rebid zones on 5 star are Shibuya, Tokyo - Takanawa, and Narita which only go up to 4. The preferred areas for bidding would be Shinjuku at 5 (I think this is the park hyatt), Ginza - I think the CBD area doesn't work because it includes the Intercontinental Tokyo Bay.
The budget we're looking at though is about $200 a night all inclusive. Any ideas? I know I am being picky, but I've looked through a lot of candid traveller pics and know my way around Tokyo and given that we only have 4 days there being in a central location is important. I have my 'go to default' hotels that works out to be roughly $200 (e.g. Granbell chains, Toyoko inn or Dormy Inn chains).
Thanks!
