Started the bid at $35, then $40, $45, $47, then $50. Hotwire was offering a 4* in Perimeter for $56, so I knew I was close. Used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link. As usual, thanks for the website!
Tried 2.5* in West Ashley for $90 ... nothing Added Downtown and increased to $95 ... nothing Added Mt. Pleasant and increased to $100 ... struck a 3* Courtyard Not too bad. Rates there go for $129 right now. Edit: Btw, the 3* Mt Pleasant for Priceline is listed as this in the Hotel List topic: "3* Hilton (now 3* Charleston Harbor Resort not yet reported)" (with "Hilton" crossed out) It might need to be updated. This is what Priceline calls it: Courtyard By Marriott Charleston/Mount Pleasant
I got this hotel for $71 for the dates of 6/19 - 6/22. A great big thanks to betterbidding.com for the information! I always count on you guys! :) I also used the HOTWIRE link you have. Thanks again!
Fellow Better Bidders: 3.5*: Bid $50 area 11 - Rejected Bid $55 added 1 - Rejected Bid $60 added 3 - Rejected Bid $65 added 9 - Rejected Bid $70 added 12 - Rejected Bid $75 added 6 - Rejected Bid $80 added 7 - Accepted Hyatt Regency Miami 400 South East Second Avenue Miami, Florida, USA 33131-2197 In hindsight, I probably should have added 6 and 7 before the others since they were acceptable to me and I may have gotten a lower rate at the Hyatt. Either way, I'm happy with the $80 room. Not an awesome deal but a great hotel at a good price. I used the PRICELINE link here to place the bid.
I was able to get The Mills House for $125/night on 11/7-11/9 (2 nights) by doing the following: - Bid 3* Downtown Charleston for $100 (DENIED) - Bid 3* Downtown + West Charleston for $125 (ACCEPTED) Hotwire appears to have this hotel listed at $164/night right now. The lowest price the Holiday Inn (Mills House) website has the rooms listed for is $299. Not shabby. I got lots of help from looking through this forum, so many thanks to all of you!
Going to Disney saturday, needed a room. I was trying for 4* just to see what would happen but ended up with 3*, which is what I was planning on getting anyway. I used up all my rebids on the 4* though. :) With all areas checked and 4* and 3* checked, my first bid was accepted at $45 to Holiday Inn Orlando Altamonte Springs. I went up to $80 on 4* and quit -- just too much to spend on a room right now. I would have started lower on the $45 but I used up all the rebids on the 4*. I was being conservative (IMO) with the $45. I wonder if I would have gotten accepted with 4* had I requested 2+ nights instead of just one. Maybe next time. :) Good luck, all.
