  1. Thanks for all the help! I started with bids you suggested but increased the bids faster. When I didn't get anything at $180, I put my last bid at $199. I got the W New York The Tuscany at $199. I think it is reasonable and in the location I want. Cheers!
  2. @thereuare - I prefer to spend more and be in ESB. Location is more important that price. @jaxbch-fl - 70 Park!!! Wow! It is a beautiful hotel. I've stayed there before. I doubt you will be disappointed.
  3. Yep the entire Soho area is acceptable. However, I do strongly prefer the ESB area.
  4. The prices on Hotwire for a 4* hotel with more than double occupancy are just too high and very limited. I'm going to risk it on priceline. I'm not expecting a upgrade, simply hoping for a cot. So going with Priceline, other than using your link of course, what's my next step? Reminder - I want to stay in ESB (3.5* or up) or Soho (4* or up). Thanks again for all the help. You guys are wonderful!!!!
  5. @thereuare - I just checked my messages. What is a PM? If it is a price max, then it's $220USD @pkmiller94 - Thanks so much for the tip. Would you mind sharing which hotel you got?
  6. How would you suggest I proceed with Priceline? Although I am willing to go with Hotwire instead. Thanks again for your help. I am really finding it difficult to know what to do.
  7. Thanks for responding! Ok, so if I understand correctly, their (PRICELINE / Hotel) concern is the number of beds, not the number of people? I would like to stick to the ESB/Soho areas, why would you suggest that I expand my parameters?
  8. Hello, I've never used Priceline before, so I am looking for some pointers. I (along with 2 friends) will be staying in NYC from April 2 - April 5, 2010. I would like to stay in a 4* hotel and my max budget is $220. Looking at the "Calendar of Wins" this seems reasonable. I have two (2) main concerns: 1) I'm traveling with 2 friends. I saw that Priceline stipulates a max. 2 person occupancy - is this rule enforced? A double bed with a cot would be fine. Hell if a king bed is large enough, sharing would be okay too. I just don't want to be kicked out of the hotel. 2) Bed bugs. I have traveled to NYC many times before and on one occasion I had the awful experience of bed bugs. Which resulted in having to get my condo fumigated shortly after returning home. I would mention the hotel by name but it has closed down since. From my research (I have gone through most of the 4* hotels you guys have listed) I haven't discovered any bed bug complaints. Has anyone of heard anything regarding bed bugs and 4* hotels? Any advice? Thank you for any incite you may be willing to share. I will be waiting for feedback regarding occupancy numbers before placing a bid. Also, does placing a higher bid make it more likely to get a better hotel? Cheers
