  1. Ok, have been at it raising my bid by $5 a day +/- and included the Downtown zone. As the price started getting higher I decided to start over on 3* hotels which would likely get me free wifi, which is somewhat important as I will be in a foreign country and won't want to pay for internet access. 9/19/11-9/23/11 Today I bid $65 plus $5/night reward so $70/night total for (Convention Center-Old Montreal-Latin Quarter) and got the "if you bid $16 more tonight you will get your hotel". Instead I added the downtown zone and bumped it up $5 for $75/night with the reward and won. Gouverneur Place Dupuis Montreal 3 star Convention Center - Old Montreal - Latin Quarter 1415 Saint Hubert Street, Montreal, QC H2L3Y9 514-842-4881 Bonus Cash: Per Room, Per Night US$20.00 Offer Price: avg. per room, per night US$75.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 4 + Add nights for the same rate! Room Subtotal: US$300.00 Taxes & Fees: US$68.12 Total Charged to Card: US$368.12 I've gotten better deals but considering the going prices in downtown Montreal this seems like a good deal.
  2. Ok, starting to look at the hotels for my trip to Montreal. I figured to throw out a low ball just to see what happens. Bid $50 for a 4* and was denied. Not surprised. I have a reward to use for $5 off per night so I may get out with around $65 by the time I am done. I may change my * rating depending on what I can find out about the 4* hotels (free wifi!!) Will keep informed of my progress.
  3. Used the iPhone app. One bid for $55 which was the lowest the "slider" would go. Got 2 rooms. Hotel seemed busy which was surprising. Nice hotel.
  4. After a couple of days bidding $65 for 3.5* in Toronto North, I would rebid adding Toronto South, and 3* with no result. Getting closer to the date, on 8/9/10 I bid $70 for 3.5* Downtown Toronto North, then added Downtown Toronto South. Got a hit. Hilton Toronto 4* Downtown Toronto South 145 Richmond Street West Toronto, ON M5H 3M6 416-869-3456 Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $70.00 (USD) 8/14/10-8/15/10 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $140.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $27.66 (USD) Total Room Cost: $167.66 (USD) I am very happy with this as it is only 4 miles from the wedding. Although $30 for parking and $15 for wifi is outrageous. According to the hilton website today 8/10/10, there is no availability at this hotel. interesting.
  5. I have a wedding to attend in Toronto that is just a few blocks north of this zone so I have been trying to get the Delta Chelsea as with their registered program I can get free wifi. After 3rd day of bidding I still have nothing. Day 1: bid 3.5* $55 a night fail Day 2: bid 3.5* $60 a night fail and 3* $60 a night fail --figure I may get the Courtyard, which also has free internet Day 3: bid 3.5* $65 a night fail Will keep plugging away. Still have time. Can't change the zone as I would be getting too far away from the place of the wedding.
  6. 11. Looking to book on Key west for two days. Any thoughts on the facilities that come up as unrated in the non-opaque side of PL? I see one (Westwinds Inn) which, through NYOP should be pretty cheap, but for NYOP you have to choose a star level. I am curious how to approach this.
  12. Started bidding yesterday (5/24) to get a room near the water in Miami. 3* and above is what I am bidding on. I know I am bidding low but I have time. First round:$50-South Beach-Ocean Drive-fail Second Round: $60-Added South beach Collins Oceanfront-fail I will keep nickel and diming it and eventually add South Beach Central. Will keep you informed of my progress.

  14. Hotwire: Expedia: Full: 22 24 premium: 47 58 conv: 68 88 I know I am bidding a bit low (really low for the convertible) but nothing different for other wins in mco
  15. Looking at their website for the same night, the price is $149 plus all the extra incidentals. You got hosed man.
  16. Have been bidding for 3 days so far. Have bid on various levels of cars, buy my price per level has not changed. I figure sooner or later they will accept the price I am willing to pay. As a last resort I will go to a lower level of car. Current declined bids /per day: Full Size:$17 Convertible: $21 Premium:$18 Standard:$14 I am basing these bids on other wins at MCO for that level of car. I figure being June, would probably be the beginning of their slow months. Although Memorial Day may be working against me. Will respond when I finally have a win. :)
  17. Been paying attention to this forum and the bachelor party is next weekend so it was time to make the bid. Within the last 90 days+/- the Marriot has gone for $74/night only whereas Hilton has been all over the place, and other bids could have gotten a different hotel. This was the hotel we wanted and I got it first bid. I did use the link. :) Your Offer Price: $74.00 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $148.00 Taxes and Fees: $29.16 Total Charges*: $177.16
  18. Is there anything going on that week that would cause the prices to be so high? Although, it seems prices for inner harbor are higher mid-week than they are on the weekend.
  19. Was hoping for closer to Pickering but oh well. Room Subtotal: $32.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $11.44 (USD) Total Room Cost: $43.44 (USD)
  20. Sorry, this is the Residence Inn, Marriott property.
  21. Started bidding low..@$30. expanded from 3* to 3.5* for second bid. Had to try the next day and got it on second bid after starting at $38 for 3*, then $39 for 3 and 3.5*. This is a good location for me. Got today for 3/13/10-3/14/10
