Very new to betterbidding - but so far i love it! :) Planning a trip to Washington DC Saturday, April 10 - Monday, April 12, 2010 Family of 5 - parents and kids 12,11 and 11. My kids have never been to DC; my husband I haven't been to DC in years. Since it's a short visit, we'd like to stay right in the heart of tourist attractions - I'm thinking White House Capital Hill or Dupont Circle. (I think I prefer White House are but could be pursuaded.) All 5 of us in one room - would like 2 beds, one child in sleeping bag or roll away, if possible. I kind of like the idea of a heated rooftop pool - but will it be open in April? Here's what I'm considering: Dupont Circle/Embassy Row 4 1/2 stars $125 - bed choice, boutique, fitness center, restaurant, business center, hi speed internet, tennis nearby OR White House Capitol Area 4 stars $133 - fitness, pool, restuarant, business center, hi speed internet Questions: which hotels are these? I'm guessing the Dupont Circle is the Fairfax and the White House is the Sheraton Downtown. Concern: With a party of 5 people, I assume we need to fly under the radar. Would we be conspicuous at a boutique hotel? I don't want to get kicked out or pay a fine. Timing: Should we book now, or what a while? I know it's a ll a gamble, but would love your thoughts on timing. Ideally, we'd like to stay until Tuesday, April 13, but I noticed a big jump in rates on weekday vs weekend. I'm thinking of adding another night separately, maybe heading north - say Bethesda, MD? - as we will be driving home to New England. Or, we can save money and just drive home (5+ hours) on Monday. I've never seen bed choice as an option before - very interesting. Can't wait to hear back! I will definitely book through your site. :)
