  1. Very disappointed in this "win". I was trying to bid on 4-5 star in the North Strip zone, and I selected the Summerlin zone on my final re-bid, which appeared to have nothing above 3.5 stars. To my dismay, I won a hotel in the Summerlin zone, which is no where near the strip. Unfortunately, I did not do enough research and did not no know about the Resort upgrade option and that Resorts do not carry a specific star rating. Summerlin is the only zone in Vegas that has a Resort. Really wished I would have read this board a bit more before bidding, and I probably would have seen the other posts regarding this very topic and would have stayed away from Summerlin. Needless to say, I will not be staying at this property, and will be out about $400. I did call priceline and of course they wouldn't budge. They did offer me a credit for $10/night on my next purchase for up to 5 nights, which is pretty worthless in my opinion. I know it's my own fault, but I still feel a little deceived.
  2. Ugh, this same thing happened to me! I was trying to bid on 4-5 star in the North Strip zone and for my final re-bid at $115, I selected Summerlin zone as a re-bid. I was very shocked that I won a hotel in a 3.5 level zone when I had selected 4-5 stars. At first I thought it was a priceline error. I had no idea about the resort upgrade option. It's so far out from the strip, I think I'm going to just have to take the loss and try for another hotel. I tried calling priceline and of course they wouldn't budge. They did offer me a $10/night credit for up to 5 nights. I'm not sure I'll ever use priceline again though. I'm curious though about how the stay turned out and if the shuttle is very convenient to get to the strip. dchobo, please update if you can.
  3. Thanks for the help, really did not like the reviews for Roger Williams. I ended up going to lastminutetravel.com, got a 3.5 star for $159/night at the Radisson Lexington.
  4. I followed up in my new orleans thread. sorry about that.
  5. Sorry, I never followed up. My friend ended up booking us a room at lastminutetravel.com at the JW Merriott on Canal for $150/night.
  6. Please help me id the following: 4* (ESB) $162 Boutique Smoke-free fitness center business center dates: 12/18-12/21 I've tried up to $175 on priceline for 4*s with no luck. I know it is probably the saturday night that is hindering me some here. $162 seems good, but I also see there is a resort fee that is associated with this hotel, which I'm not too crazy about. I don't really want to spend over $200 per night, including tax.
  7. I am trying to book a 3.5-4 star hotel in the downtown or french quarter (or possibly convention center) area from 10/30-11/1. I've been trying for a few days, and my bids have ranged from $70-$135 and I still haven't gotten anything. I'm just wondering how high I should go before it's no longer a good deal. I'm just worried I've waited too long. I wanted to keep it under $100, but have realized that's not going to be possible. I absolutely do not want to spend anymore than $170 including tax. I guess I didn't realize how busy this weekend is in NOLA. Can anyone help?
  8. I called the Hudson about bed size, and they said it's 1 double bed. I asked if I could have 2 doubles or a queen, and their response was that I couldn't change that myself since I didn't make the reservation directly through them. I understand that the rooms are notoriously small, so maybe that has something to do with it. It's just my sister and I, so I'm sure we can make it work, but I'd rather have a larger bed. Does anyone have any suggestions or am I stuck with 1 small bed?
  9. Ok, finally I got one. My $140 bid was accepted. It's the Hudson, a 3.5* in CPS. Looks like great access to Columbus Circle subway stop that we can arrive at from Penn Station. It's a little more than I wanted to spend, but I'm happy with it.
  10. Thanks for the suggestion. Still no luck, though. After I bid your suggestion, I ended up adding CPS, and went up to $115 at 3* but still nothing. Will keep trying.
  11. I would like to now try for a 3* in TS, MSG, and MTW zones. I would like the bid range to be from $85-$120 (pre-tax). Can someone please help me with a bid strategy? I would do MTE and ESB as well, but I'm afraid I'd get one too far east and it'd be too hard to get there from Penn Station.
  12. I bid on those three zones starting at $95, rebidding up to $115, and was unsuccessful. Contemplating whether I should increase my bid or go down to 3*.
  13. $120 "all in". I would also be open to ESB and TS areas, in addition to MSG. I will be sure to use the PRICELINE links as you stated.
  14. I will be arriving in NYC via a train from Philadelphia, therefore I would like to try to get a hotel near Penn Station. So, I would like to bid on priceline for a 3.5* hotel in the MSG area. $120 is my maximum bid price for now. I need help on what price to start at. I'm new at this. Any help is appreciated.
