  1. The Delta Chelsea is in Toronto East, and I believe it is the 3.5* hotel coming upas $62 for the one night. Hope this helps Andrew
  2. Thanks very much for the reply, that was very helpful of you. Didn't realise it was in such an expensive area so I think we'll probably try and find cheaper places to eat whilst we're there. You've definitely reassured me on the hotel, it looks like a lovely hotel and we can't wait to stay there. Do they all have balconies? Also did you request a particular room or make any special room requests prior to arrival? It sounds really amazing and again, can't wait to get there! :-D Andrew
  3. Thanks for all the help, ended up going through HOTWIRE (your link) and got the Sheraton Vancouver Airport for $79, and including fees this was $99. We're only there for one night but delighted to get such a great place! Average price for this seems to be at least double what we paid! Amenities were:- Airport Shuttle Restaurant Fitness Centre Pool Business Centre Laundry High-Speed Internet Access Going by this site I had a feeling that we'd get the sheraton - it was a 3* hotel with 90% positive reviews and 4 out of 5 on tripadvisor Thanks so much for all the help, that's our trip now fully booked for hotels :-D
  4. Hi, can you please share your experience of the sutton place if possible? Would be greatly appreciated as I'm staying there for 5 nights in summer. Thanks
  5. Thanks for the replies theraure, no luck up to $55 though. For $65 (excluding fees and taxes) the 2.5* hotel is now available on hotwire, bringing it in at $82 in total. This offer shuttle, complimentary breakfast, fitness centre, restaurant and business centre. Any ideas what it could be? There are no review recommendations and nothing from tripadvisor either. Thanks again, Andrew
  6. The room rate on hotwire of the 2.5* hotel I'm referring to is $74 before taxes and fees, am I aiming too low then with my $54? I would actually accept a 2.5* hotel as it is only for one night so I'm not too bothered (wouldn't be checking in till late on and getting up very eary). Thanks, Andrew
  7. Thanks for the help. I emailed them like 2 hours later, but they have back to me saying I had to phone, called the number and after speaking for a few minutes they hung up. I emailed back to say this and they said sorry about that but you really have to phone to speak to a customer services rep personally, I've decided to just leave it as I'm pretty sure it wasn't too cheap to phone the number in the first place, never mind :-) Cheers
  8. Looking to book with priceline for one night at Vancouver Airport. Cheapest I can find on hotwire is $89 including all fees and taxes so looking to spend about $70 on a room including fees and taxes if possible, does this mean I should bid up to approx $58? What is the likelihood of securing a decent room for this price? Not too bothered about star quality, perhaps 3* and up because it's only for 1 night (I presume I'll be given a room in Richmond though if successful). Thanks
  9. Is there some sort of a policy they have for this? It's only about $25 dollars difference overall but I just got a bit of a surprise when I found it cheaper elsewhere. Thanks
  10. Thank theraure, I've been reading through a lot of the reviews and tried not to get to engulfed with it all, really looking forward to staying there now. One slight problem I have is that while searching for reviews I can across another website - alpharooms.com - where the property is actually CHEAPER than the price I paid overall on priceline, shows I should've done more thorough research before bidding. Oh well, these things happen. Thanks, Andrew
  11. Just went through the PRICELINE link and won the Sutton Place for $78 per night. Going by reviews on tripadvisor I'm not that excited about it :-( Can anyone make me feel better about it? haha
  12. Looking for a hotel in downtown Toronto for the period of 7/1 - 7/6, hotwire shows this hotel: - 4* Downtown Toronto West, $86/night, amenties are non-smoking, fitness centre, swimming pool, restaurant, high-speed internet and business centre, it's been recommended in 85% of customer reviews and has 4 out of 5 on tripadvisor and 500+ customer reviews. My guess (and it's a hopeful guess) is the Inter-Continental hotel Yorkville, but thinking maybe could also be the Sheraton. Does anyone know for certain - ie booked this exact hotel recently - which hotel it is likely to be? Thanks a lot
  13. Thanks for the advice, but I tried after speaking to my girlfriend for just a week long stay and still had no luck up to $84 so decided instead to book a self-catering condo for a price of 700 CAD for the duration of the week, so now I will just have the period of 1st July - 6th July in Toronto and the 30th June overnght at Vancouver Airport to book. :-) Thanks again
  14. Can I just ask if there's definitely not an additional amenity of 'non-smoking' present now on this listing? If there is then I would guess it to either be the sheraton or the Inter-Continental yorkville edit/ nevermind, I just checked and it is only 5 amenities, sorry about that, Andrew
  15. Just out of interest do you remember what the customer review rating was for this hotel? As I've seen one which I think is the same for stays between 7/1 and 6/7 with an 85% rating, 500+ reviews and non-smoking, fitness, pool, restaurant, business centre and high-speed internet access. Thanks, Andrew
  16. I went up to $84 for 4* and when I tried again the next day I went to $76 for 3* I'm wondering if maybe I'd have more luck splitting the week into 3 nights and 4 nights, does priceline tend to give better results when it's shorter stays? This is something that wouldn't bother us as we both enjoy spending time in hotels whilst at home so an extra hotel on holiday wouldn't be a problem. Preferrably I'd like a 4* hotel but tobe perfectly honest I'm not too bothered, as a 3* in the downtown district would be fine (although not too keen on some of the reviews for a couple of the entertainment district 3* hotels). Thanks, Andrew
  17. Looking to win a hotel 3* and above in the Downtown area or 4* and above in the Entertainment district. I've been trying without success recently but would ideally like to get a hotel for around about $80/night. Any tips would be much appreciated :-) Thanks
  18. Yep we're both delighted with it, a bit confused by the fact that PRICELINE wasn't giving us anything but nevermind, hopefully I'll get my next stay through PRICELINE, or I may as well try :-)
  19. No Smoking Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Center Internet Spa Recommended in 90% of hotel reviews Delighted with this property, very happy to get this price, priceline got me nothing at this price which is confusing, went through the HOTWIRE link Thanks for the help :-)
  20. Went up to $87 last night, and STILL nothing :-( I reckon I could get the Delta Chelsea for a really good price but I'm desperate to get one of the nice 4* hotels, would have expected to be able to get one at that price. Is it worth bidding higher or waiting? Thanks
  21. Thanks for the responses, and thanks for that info stw. I'm finding it really strange now that I've bid up to $83 dollars for both Toronto Downtown South and North for 4* hotels for the dates 10th-17th June AND 1st-6th July and had no luck at all, however looking at hotwire it is actually possible to pay for a 4* hotel outright for $8 dollars less overall. I think the one on hotwire is the westin Harbour Castle, however going by what everyone has said on previous topics it seems to be the norm that you can achieve around 25% less of the Hotwire price by bidding on Priceline. Don't see any point in bidding any higher just now so hopefully prices change over the next few days, although I don't really know when best to book, as just now its neither the end of the week, nor anywhere near payday for a lot of people. Thanks, Andrew
  22. Hi everyone, still struggling with hotel bookings from priceline so looking to id this 2.5 star hotel in downtown toronto east. It's amenities are smoke-free rooms, restaurant and high-speed internet. Thanks a lot :-)
  23. Yeh I don't see any point in raising my bids just now, when as you say, there's plenty of time left! I'm looking ideally for South, but ended up just trying both and still didn't get anywhere. I'll be there for a week, then moving over to vancouver for a week, then victoria for a week before coming back to Toronto for another 5 nights, so got lots of booking to do! Thanks Aaron :-) Andrew
  24. Started at $50 and bid up to $70 unsuccessfully for a 4* hotel in Toronto downtown, will try again tomorrow. Now we have our full schedule and flights all booked so next phase is to get all the hotels sorted.
