  1. Hi, This is a great forum. This is also the first time i try to use hotwire.com for a 'secret' hotel. Can you help me ID this ? I am very confused since i don't see any of the amenities usually listed. It only talked about Accessibility. Here is the info: 1 room, 2 person, 6/8 - 6/9 for 1 night. 4* , $86. Amenities: Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Handicapped parking When click on See all amenities, a popup window with this is shown: 4-star Hotel in LA Intl Airport LAX This Hotel features the following amenities: Accessible for the blind Braille or raised signage Accessible for the deaf TTY for telephone, visual or flashing fire alarm and vibrating alarm clock Accessible path of travel <amenity names only please... not descriptions> In-room accessibility Accessible path from the room entrance to the window, the bed and the bathroom; accessible hardware and minimal resistance to open the door; accessible temperature controls and window coverings Handicapped parking <amenity names only please... not descriptions> Roll-in shower Bathroom has a roll-in shower Please note that Hotwire cannot guarantee the level of services offered at a property and/or if services are operational at the time of visit. Services may be closed due to seasonality reasons and/or may be closed for renovation. thanks Andy
  2. I just used BB PRICELINE link to bid a LAX hotel for this coming Sat, 2/26, 1 night. I get the Crowne Plaza for $55. Start with $55 and get it right away. Wonder if i should start lower :)
  3. I decided to do a 3* for zone Buena Park. Using BB PRICELINE link , I put in $42 and got accepted right away. I think this is a really good deal. Courtyard By Marriott Buena Park Check-In: Friday, March 19, 2010-03:00 PM Check-Out: Saturday, March 20, 2010-01:00 PM Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $42.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $84.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $18.44 (USD) Total Room Cost: $102.44 (USD) Thanks for all the advice, BB is GREAT !! ps. I am not sure if this needs to move to Orange County forum, please do so if needed. thanks. Andy.
  4. I decided not to be picky about which hotel. But I have tried bidding for 3 stars for up to $55 for both Anaheim and Garden Glove zone and still got rejected :) I saw that many can get it under this price. And the exact day for $49 for DoubleTree. (3/19). Do you think it maybe because I need 2 rooms ? Anyone know if #of rooms changes the chance ? btw, since i decided to stay at Disneyland area instead of Santa Monica, should i close this thread and start another one under Orange County PRICELINE ? thanks Andy.
  5. Just an update. Using BB PRICELINE link, i bid up to $48 for 3.5* and got rejected. 2 zones: anaheim and Orange Garden Grove. I need 2 rooms, 1 night 3/19. I saw that someone got doubletree for $49 that same day, but i prefer not to get that. There is no free parking, no shuttle to disneyland. So, i change to 3*, still didn't get that with bid up to $42. (2 zones: anaheim and Orange Garden Grove ). I am willing to pay more for 3* at Anaheim for up to $55. What do you think my chance is ? But then i still risk myself of getting DoubleTree, right ?
  6. Thanks very much for your detailed reply and help move my thread to this correct forum :) The day will be 3/20 weekend, and we are still wondering if we should stay at Santa Monica or Anaheim. Will make the decision and use your PRICELINE link to bid next week. Thanks to BB, I believe I have all the info i need. After my bidding, should i post the result in this thread or start another thread with the bidding info ? thanks Andy.
  7. Please bear with me as I am new and try to learn. Without knowing the 'rule', i posted the following in http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry320541 and was suggested to start a new topic. I hope i put this in the correct forum this time. The following was suggested when bidding a Santa Monica (LA area) hotel: Here is my question: So, do u start with the PRICELINE link from this site ? And what is the advantage or why you need to close the browser and "use our link to re-access PRICELINE" ? Giving you another chance of bidding without waiting for 24 hours ? Why do you re-bid zone2 before re-bid zone1 at this point ? Another question is, for PRICELINE, is the "opaque" list of hotel is a subset of "retail" list ? in other words, will i win a hotel thats not listed out ? Thanks for your help. Andy
  8. Please bear with me as I am new and try to learn. I don't quite get this and have a couple questions: So, do u start with the PRICELINE link from this site ? And what is the advantage or why you need to close the browser and "use our link to re-access PRICELINE" ? Giving you another chance of bidding without waiting for 24 hours ? Why do you re-bid zone2 before re-bid zone1 at this point ? I am also interested in Santa Monica and really want to understand this. Thanks for your help. Andy
  9. Get it. Thanks for the quick response !! Love this forum.
  10. I have never bidded on priceline, but have read about the tips in the forum. Seems i can bid again if i add another zone, or change the star. Can i continue changing that and rebid right away, or they will stop me from bidding after i change it for say 3 times ? thanks.
  11. We are not able to make the trip to Las Vegas. :) What do i need to do to close this thread ? Thanks for your help.
  12. Thanks for your detailed answer, for my question and my coming up questions as well :) Still waiting to see if my friend can take the time off next week. If we decided to go, will definitely go through your HOTWIRE link to book. thanks.
  13. Just learn about this great forum from my friend. Great Job. I looked at the hotel list, but can't find any match. A question about the list. Does the order of the icon important when matching the hotel ? Can you help me identify this hotel ? The price seems great. $38/night for 1/13 and 1/14 night. 4 stars Downtown Las Vegas Area Hotel. Resort, Casino, Fitness center, Pool, Restaurant, business center, high speed internet, spa I haven't been to Las Vegas for over 20 years, and we will have a rental car. Is this going to be very inconvenient if it is in Downtown instead of on the strip ? thanks
