  1. $59.71 (Cdn) plus $16.05 in taxes & fees for a total of $75.76 (Cdn). I'll also use the Hotwire Entertainment Book coupon for a $20 rebate making the net cost $55.76.
  2. Thanks for all the help. The outcome was an accepted Priceline bid of $116 for 3 rooms, Friday February 24th, at the Courtyard By Marriott San Juan Miramar.
  3. I've made the first bid and it wasn't accepted and just want be clear before rebidding with the re-bid zone. Looks to me like I should be using Cabo Rojo as the zone to be added as it's only showing 2* 1* accommodation. Can you please confirm? Thanks....Ken
  4. This stay is a very short one so the least expensive 3* would probably work best. Maximum budget will be around $110 or so I hope - but we will need something so if we have to spend a little more we will. It's less about budget and more about not wanting to go less than 3*. Will do the link thing next time - didn't know you had links to retail as well.
  5. Sorry, that wasn't updated because I ended up booking retail, not using Hotwire or Priceline. I've updated that thread now.
  6. Sorry for not updating this but I ended up booking a retail property not using PRICELINE or HOTWIRE.
  7. Looking for bidding assistance on Priceline for a minimum 3 star hotel, 3 rooms precruise on February 24th. I don't see any wins in that hotel range so I don't have an idea of where to start the bidding. Any suggestions would be appreciated....Thanks!
  8. Could you please help me with identification of these hotels? 3* Doral Miami Airport West Hotel (3.0-6.0 miles from MIA). Airport shuttle, complimentary breakfast, fitness centre, pool, laundry facilities, high speed internet access. Also, just noticed a 3.5* Miami International Airport area hotel (.5 - 3.0 miles from MIA). Airport shuttle, fitness centre, pool, restaurant, business centre, high speed internet access.
  9. The kids are prepared to pay retail so they'd probably go to $180 or so on Priceline. Is that doable and if so where should we start? Can you please elaborate on what you meant by "Fulls"? I know they'd be happy with one bed, king or queen, but I'm not sure what is meant by fulls.....thanks. Mods, please feel free to move this thread into the Priceline bidding help forum....thanks.
  10. Looking for some help with a Priceline booking I'm trying to arrange for my son. Can anyone suggest what I should start bidding? Cheapest Priceline retail I've found for these dates is the W New York at $254 / night. Also, they're not thrilled at the prospect of getting a room with 2 double beds. Does anyone have any experience in calling a 4 star hotel after winning a bid and trying to pin them down to a king sized bed? Any help would be appreciated.
  11. 3* Holiday Inn Express, Coldwater, Mi - Saturday August 7th, 1 night $59 (71.68 with tax). Hotel amenities: Complimentary breakfast Business Centre Fitness Centre Laundry Facilities Pool High Speed Internet Golf nearby
  12. Thank again to Betterbidding I've gotten the above resort for $90. Will be a great way to end off our cruise!
  13. Awesome suggestions Romelle, thanks! Lucky for us we followed the instructions and wasted our time. What we ended up with was the 3 star, Courtyard San Juan Miramar, for $45 night. Thanks for your help! I'll start another thread for help with our night after the cruise if we need it.
  14. Ok, now I'm really confused. I've gone to Priceline to enter the bid but I need 2 rooms. How do I go about doing that?
  15. I'm seeing a retail price point of about $120 for these properties. Where would you suggest we start bidding for the 2 star in the San Juan area?
  16. I've read thru the FAQs and understand that the two sides of Priceline use different hotels. I'm wondering though, how is it that folks claim to be able to narrow down the choice to the point of claiming to know which hotel they're bidding on when they don't even know the full list of hotels in Priceline's bidding universe? Is there a way to narrow these things down? We're pretty much ready to bid but want to understand this as much as possible prior to doing so.
  17. When I do a search on PRICELINE for 2 star hotels in this area (San Juan airport SJU), only 3 show up, the two mentioned above and the Best Western. Does this mean these are the only 3 possibilities once we win a bid or could there be other hotels that aren't listed? Of these, I'd prefer to stay at the Miramar since it's the closest to the cruise pier. The Hampton would be ok but I'd prefer not to stay in the Best Western but would if it's a possibility and there's no way to weed it out when bidding.
  18. Ok, we've revisited and we're ok with a 2 star in that region. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only two 2 stars I see are the Miramar and the Hampton Inn. Given the time we're arriving, the better option for us would be the Miramar as that is closer to the Pan Am Pier where our ship leaves the next day, but if it's a tossup given our criteria, we can live with the Hampton. Can you suggest the best way to go about doing this bid? I'll start the 2nd thread once we get thru this one. Thanks again.
  19. First time looking to bid on a hotel and am appreciative of any help I can get. We're looking for hotel rooms (2) pre and post cruise. We're arriving in San Juan late at night on February 27th (day before the cruise) so we don't need anything special. Possibly a 3 star either near the airport or the Pan Am pier (this is where our cruise will leave from). After the cruise we'll have a full day to relax so we're looking for something a little bit nicer, either a 4 star or resort property. Budget is an issue of course but since I've never done this before I really have no clue where to start with pricing. If I had to put a price on things I'd say $75 for the first night and $100 for the last but I'm really guessing at what things might cost. Again, any help is greatly appreciated.
