Ok understandable. I had started another topic in the Hotwire section, but no replies as it related to identifying a specific hotel

I like Scenario 1 better. Here is my problem now, I have identified some properties that I would not mind staying at based off the price and customer reviews. They are the Hilton Garden Inn Chelsea, Holiday Inn Express Chelsea, Ramada New Yorker and the Affinia 50. I would love to do Scenario 1 with those hotels, however I know it is a bidding process so, nothing is guaranteed. I am really looking for a hotel $85 or below if possible, that is clean and close to the action. Some places have been getting negative reviews, so I am afraid of bidding, only to end up in one of those dumps. Tell me what I need to do to ensure some success.

2 rooms for 2/3-7 1 room for 2/7-9 my budget is between $70-90, but I would really love the Chelsea area because it is close to Penn station, easy to go back and forth

I have been reading around this site for a couple of weeks and I am ready to bid on a hotel. I am trying to go for the Holiday Inn Express or Hilton garden Inn in Chelsea. These are both 2.5 star hotels and the only ones in that area. I have seen a couple of winning bids in the $70 region, I am hoping to go lower or slightly higher. I have 2 questions #1 Rebidding - I think I have gotten the idea of the free rebid, however because these star levels are so low, is it possible to get a free rebid without getting screwed. #2 I will be looking to stay from 2/3/10-2/9/10, however, I will be booking a room for my brother who is leaving on the 2/7/10. Are there any tips for getting back into Chelsea for the last 2 nights we will be there?
