Was listed as $123 per night without the 2 children.

More info. I booked as 2 adults with the intent on bringing my 2 and 4 year old. I caled ahead to alert the hotel as to the number of people change. I learned that < 3 years is free. 3-11 had a 500 pesos ($40 per night) child fee. > age 11 is considered an adult. So that add $160 to my cost but still a very solid deal. I priced it out online and the best price I could find for this resort with 2 adult and 2 kids was $191 per night....so I saved $26 per night or $104 for the trip. Not too shabby.

This thread inspired me to call ahead for my hotwire reservation for 2 adults at Ocean Coral Turquesa in August 2013. Rather than deal with the hassles again. My 2 year old was free. My 4 years old will cost $40 per night.....

Hmmm...Couldnt find my Marina El Cid post from 2011-2012.... I was hoping this was the Marina El Cid (see my previous win 1 year ago) which was lovely. This was a slightly different amenity lineup so I knew that there was a chance that it might not be and it wasnt but still very happy with result. About $65 cheaper per night than other website for this hotel and by far cheaper than other similar 4 star options in North Riviera Maya or Cancun for these dates. Agreed. But it is a risk benefit type of thing. Risk of being asked to pay more compared to the benefit savings by not declaring......Usually benefit outweighs the risk but be prepared to pay. I do it, but wouldnt recommend it. But yes, I am a frquent traveler to cancun area with family and speak fluent spanish

Depends on hotel. but generally kids, when free, and under 12. If you think u know which hotel it will be, just call. otherwise proceed as a 17 yr old is an adult. I always book my two kids on hotwire (without them) to get access to cheaper price, but my two are way under 12. I have gotten resistance at check in half the time but after some aggravation and haggling here and there, I am still batting 1.000

Started and $100 and bid up over 3 days by $2-3 intervals adding desirable tourist zones. Jumped from $132 to $135. Got it at $135. Used the PRICELINE link.

Tried priceline at 4 stars first in Midtown and nothing up to $72 per night. Then used this on hotwire. Found same hotel on hotwire for $108/night and a total of $258 with taxes and fees. Starting bidding at $75 with $5 increments using free re-bid. Changes to $3 increments at $98. Then $101, then finally $105 based upon previous reported wins. Saved $8.50 off hotwire rate. Used links for both searches. The Fiesta Americana Website price was $437! Used the HOTWIRE link and I pulled the trigger. As I suspected it was the gran bahia principe coba resort....a new hotel for you. The price was going to be $114/night for 2 adults. Then $161 with 2 adults and a 2 year old. If I added my infant (who will be 6 months at time of trip, then they wanted an additional $300. I decided to role the dice as I think it is unethical for them to charge an infant who will consume no food and use no services. if they charge me there then oh well. Best price I could find was $1200 elsewhere including taxes and fees. Thanks. I changed the search to 2 adults and two children (8/27-9/1) and a Hotels.com option comes up for $141/night with the same options. Also, I think the El Dorado is adult only too. Now the Palladium Royal Suites has a family section and an adult only section. The name of the adult only section is the Royal Suites.

The Royal Suites By Palladium would make sense. However, I searched by 2 Adults and 1 child. I will be traveling with a 2 year old and an infant. Royal Suites is listed as adult only. Would hotwire sell it if I specified the child as i did?

So which hotels are 3.5 here but have 4.5 star tripadvisor ratings? Usually near beach means that it has a rocky beach...a la Blue Tulum. Anyone can identify this hotel?
