  1. for my case, I finally decided to go for 5* property. For downtown area, no interesting deals on hotwire. Bid up to $100 on priceline, no results. finally went to lastminute and got this: $375 for 4 nights all included Suites Avenue described as "Luxury apt in downtown barcelona" not a bad deal.
  2. Thanks for ur kind attention on this thread, I have clicked on them as advised. Cheers
  3. 4* Downtown - Marina - Les Ramblas area hotel in Barcelona 95% recommended by Hotwire customers Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High speed internet Dates: 8/1 - 12/1 (2012) What can it be? thanks so much! :)
  4. This is the describtion I got from Last minute: The property offers the best location for a short or extended stay and is the best option for the traveller who wants to relax and have a luxurious holiday in Tenerife. This impressive complex has spectacular facilities for al fresco leisure enjoyment and a select a la carte restaurant with a traditional cuisine replete with sensitivity and pure flavours. The hotel has an relaxing Spa and is located close to one of the best Golf Courses in the island. Some other info that may help: Local Attractions Golf Course Location Nearest airport: Tenerife Norte Apt airport shuttle service (on request) Beach shuttle. Any idea? Thanks so much!
  5. Hi all, New Year period, so i think it's a good deal here. Couple days ago i saw $169 on hotwire (should be W hotel as well), but they increased the price to $209 yesterday. so i went to priceline and placed bid $180. (actually $150 as my first bid, they offered a $200 instant deal. didn't take it, then I included the airport area without 5 star property, $180). Sucessful. seems like priceline have lower charges than hotwire, total price is about the same as the prev. offer from hotwire. worked great and looking forward to the trip.
  6. I am not whinning, but I happen to have an offer from a hotel not on the database (it's a renovated historic hotel, and quite good indeed). Millennium Biltmore Hotel Los Angeles Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Spa Services $86 +fees. for period of Jan 3-6 2010 thank you for updating the database
  7. Thank you! Deal secured for now. I will keep on looking for interesting deals.
  8. Hi I would like to post some updates I reserved a minivan on Thrifty at about $1600. the deal $1400 is gone. I will keep looking for good rates online. For alamo, locations near Raleigh do not have minivans.... shame. thank you and if you know of interesting deals... please let me know. thanks a lot
  9. thank you for your reply. My plan so far is to stay in Pick up at RDU Dec 19 Charleston Dec 20-22 Jacksonville Dec 22-25 Miami Dec 25-29 we can't fly because we will have to make a lot of transfers trains can be expensive too for this itinerary Is it sensible to break the reservation into parts? thanks!
  10. the situation is: I am planning for a trip from RDU-MIA Dec 19-29 We will have 5 people and 5 luggages. I have been doing some searches online. One day I ran into Alamo/National One-way rental RDU-MIA 10 days mini-van, $440 all-in (no drop change) now of course it is gone... $3383 for now! My family is looking for comfort, safety, maybe luxury. I have learnt cars like BMW X5, Lexus or Audi equivalent are not available from major rental companies. Unfortunately neither HOTWIRE or PRICELINE can offer discounted deals on this itinerary. any comments?
  11. i finalized my booking on Orbitz with the coupon. ended up with a 2bed rm suite with Homewood Suites MIA west. Newly opened in November and seems to have very good comments on tripadvisor. 4 nights $800 all in. pretty good deal. Thanks. right now I am more into car rental problem. I am having trouble with car rental but unfortunately since it's a one-way rental, PRICELINE and HOTWIRE do not offer deals on this situation. I need a large SUV or minivan from RDU to MIA, Dec 19-29, for 5 people and 5 luggages, low cost desired. Please comment.
  12. these are HOTWIRE rates, and identified. didn't see people winning on these hotels though
  13. I am including some updates from what I have found online. Now I am quite into these properties Intercontinental West MIA 4* $96 Hilton downtown 3* $56 where Intercontinental West seemed to be higher ranked on tripadvisor, and seemed to offer free valet parking I am also aware of Conrad Miami has 2 bed-room suite. I sent an email to them for price and availability. Homewood Suites at MIA has also 2 bed-room suites. very reasonably priced. Meanwhile do you have any suggestion for me? thanks!
  14. I will be going with my family. For leisure :) They are from Asia and have never been to the Southern part of USA I am interested in going to Biscayne National Park / Everglades National Park, beach, Fort Lauderdale, Christmas night party on street, maybe Key west for Miami Downtown, I think i can spend a day there.
  15. Thanks for your reply! It's been very helpful in organizing my thoughts. I have no experience in living in a airport hotel. Can air plane noise be a potential problem? I will be driving there so Free parking / low-cost parking is a plus Room comfort is our biggest concern, I don't mind staying in Garden Inn type of thing if they have gorgeous rooms Which area do you suggest me to stay in? is Coral Gables or MIA area a nice alternative to downtown? Is driving to downtown during Christmas a pain? how bad the traffic is in Miami in general?
  16. thanks for your info. we are a party of 5. I don't have a specific Budget, probably $100 for regular rooms, but can be at $150 for beach/seaview/boutique... can be more if required but i am more into great deals :) thanks!
  17. i was trying to find a 3.5-4.5 star establishment in Miami for 5 (2 rooms or 1 apartment/suite if large enough) Dec 25-Dec 29 My mom love the idea to live in a family-style room, but it can be expensive. I thought of staying near Coral Gables too, but Westin Colonnade is no longer offering cheap rooms through Priceline (at least no more $6x offers..) any nice hotel that you know of? I will drive to Miami and I won't spent too much time in the downtown of Miami so areas close to MIA is fine too. Any suggestion? Appreciate it.
  18. it was, and i believe it is more expensive and listed as 4* on HOTWIRE
  19. I ended up using priceline to book Marriot Charleston at $60/rm/night, i think that was a great deal! thanks!
  20. 2RMs and 5 adults is real. But my guess is I can always add a rollaway or just have 2 people sleep on one bed. Thanks :)
  21. i have been doing searches like this Dec 20-22, downtown Charleston, 4* 2RMs, 5 adults - $119, fitness, restaurant, business. Tripadvisor 3.5 2RMS, 4 adults - $103, restaurant, business. No Tripadvisor 2RMS, 2 adults (or with 2 kids too) - $102, restaurant, business. No Tripadvisor What are they exactly? :) :)
  22. another member here paid $82 for the same thing. (just 1 night difference) http://www.betterbidding.com/show.php/showtopic/86787 Am I overpaying? Thank you! :)
  23. Amenities Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access I thought i was about to get W city center, but Palmer should work fine anyway. It's closer to the blue line and also the Thanksgiving parade!
  24. Hi, just wondering what were the amenities that shown on hotwire? thanks!
