  1. Had been bidding around on these dates for a while, and HOTWIRE prices kept rising really quickly. Was hoping to get Planet Hollywood... but this works too since we are in Vegas for a wedding next door at the Bellagio. Overall I am pleased. :-) And of course, I used yall's much talked about PRICELINE link! ;-)
  2. Started bidding a few week before, slowly raising bid by $5 each day. Mainly concentrating on Times Square and Midtown West. One day I picked Midtown East and on the first bid of $165 I got the W Hotel. From what I see on the forum, I could have maybe gotten it for $150... but I am happy with it. The hotel staff was great... it was me and my grandmother who is in a wheelchair. The W kindly gave us a handicap accessible room with two beds for no extra charge. The free Acura car service at this hotel was also excellent. This is a top-notch establishment and we saw a few celebrities.
  3. I started bidding in this area at 4 * for $80 last week, using Wembley as a rebid zone for 4*, or just just lowering my bid for Mayfair - Soho to 3*. I was always getting a "suggestion" to increase my bid by anywhere from $20-25, so knew I was close. Tonight I bid $87 and it bounced back and suggested I bid $112. I am pressed for time, so added Wembley and jumped up to a $95 bid and was accepted. I love this area of London and am very pleased with this deal! The funny thing was that I had bid up to $85 for a 3* hotel in this area... so this is further evidence that 4* is the best deal in this area of London.
  4. Bid for 4 stars in downtown Columbus at $40. Rejected but counter-offered at $55. I went ahead and bid $55 which comes up to $70 with taxes and fees. Looks like parking will be $12 for public parking garage down the street. I am very pleased and look forward to it. :-)
  5. Been bidding for a long time for this, increasing $5 a day for the last couple of weeks. Selected all areas in DC (except the North East) adding Crystal City. Yesterday tried 3 star at $111. Today bidded in DC (except NE) for 3 star all the way upto $121. Added Crystal City and bid $126. Accepted (with upgrade to 3.5 star) at Hyatt Regency Crystal City for $126, 5/12-5/13. Overall I am pleased... my parents won't have to stay in Silver Spring or Sterling. haha, but the day of getting the Marriott Metro Center for $65 are long gone... :-(
  6. Tried for several days increasing my bid by $5 each day, starting out at $105. Bidding in Times Square, MTE, MTW, and CPS at 4 stars. Finally yesterday I got accepted at the Loews Regency Hotel for $140 a night. This is a little more expensive than some of the other posts for this hotel, but I think the 18th-20th must be a more expensive weekend since there aren't many posts that weekend. All in all, I am happy. :-)
  7. I started bidding yesterday at $120 and built my way upto $145, bidding for a 2.5* in every area of Manhattan with no luck. Today, I selected Midtown East, Times Square, South Central Park, and Empire State Building areas and started at 3* for $151. Bid was accepted immediately at the Manhattan Hotel Times Square. I am very happy with this outcome, and feel like I got a pretty good deal. Thoughts?
  8. Been bidding for several days... started at $40 and worked my way up to $60 for a 3 star in downtown. This morning I got frustrated and jumped upto $66 for a 3 star and I got the Doubletree. I am pleased with this, just wish I could have gotten the Hilton Garden Inn for $45 as I have in the past. Must just be a busy weekend in Philly.
  9. Bid: Downtown Only 4* $45 nothing 3.5* $40 nothing 3* $45 Accepted, Hilton Garden Inn
  10. Tried bidding Downtown Toronto North - 4 star - $51 with no luck Tried bidding Downtown Toronto North and South, 3.5 star - $55 with no luck. waited a couple of days and tried again Tried bidding Downtown Toronto North and South 3.5 star, $61, accepted! At the Delta Chelsea. After taxes and fees, $73.25 a night.
