  1. This was a last minute trip. I actually booked the hotel on the morning of 10/23/09. I used the PRICELINE links from this website because betterbidding.com provides an awesome service and I want to help them out. At the time of booking, Hotwire had a 4* hotel in Jersey city for about $130 or so, so I figured I'd start low on Priceline at $90 and rebid as necessary. Well $90 ended up winning the hotel! Darn, I wish I started my bidding lower. I figured $90 had almost no chance of winning it. Oh well, I still think I got a good deal for a Friday. Random thoughts about PARKING near the Hyatt: Apparently Hyatt Regency only offers valet parking--they don't have self parking--and it was like $32 bucks a night. That seems insanely high. Refusing to patronize that robbery, I decided to drive around trying to find something cheaper. A few blocks away near Chicago Uno's, I found a couple empty parking spots on the street that were FREE. It was permit parking only from 7am-7pm Mon-Fri, but any other day or time it was free public parking (I got there at around 7pm). Is it fairly common to find free parking that near the PATH and hotels on the waterfront? Or did I basically win the lottery?
  2. Yes, you're correct. So you have 6 tries to get a winning bid if you stay at the 4* level.
  3. I'd probably bid the Jersey City zone on PRICELINE. Is that considered the waterfront? Would any hotel in that area be fairly convenient/safe for the PATH? There's probably a reasonable chance I'll be coming back from Manhattan sometime between 2:00-4:30 AM. Ideally I'd like to get something for less than $100. I might have screwed myself now though for waiting so long to do this.
  4. Fri Sept 11-12 2* amenities: Breakfast, Fitness, Pool(s), High speed internet $69 2.5* amenities: Restaurants, Laundry, High Speed Internet $86 Also, does anyone think I could get a 3* on Priceline for a similar price, or a 2-2.5* for cheaper than this? I'm going out in NYC Friday night for a friend's birthday party. I want to be able to stay reasonably cheap. I figured I'd stay here and take the PATH train? Thanks!
