  1. Using the PRICELINE link from BetterBidding - I tried for Downtown 4* up to $130 without success. Began bidding this one at $85, $5 increments - hit at $100. Direct booking price = $189. We needed the reservation for planned travel in the area, else I could have saved some money by waiting. Very happy with this win this far in advance.
  2. Using this PRICELINE link, I started bidding 3* in the Buford area at $50. Adding Gwinnett (acceptable area) and Lawrenceville (no 3*)and bid $5 increments. Bid was accepted at $60. I am very pleased with this result. Thanks BetterBidding.com.
  3. Was bidding down from 4* and 31/2* star properties at Greenville/Spa Airport. No takers up to $70. Added 3* and got this hotel. Should have bid lower, but it's an ok price. Will be traveling to see the Clemson vs GaTech FB game that Thursday night, and am happy to have the booking. Apologies, I forgot to use this PRICELINE link here, but definitely will on my next session. Thanks BetterBidding.
  4. Yes - check in was Feb 1, for two nights. I actually messed up and only bid one night, but PRICELINE emailed an offer for extending nights at the same price. B) Turned out to be a great stay at this Resort property. Another great Marriott experience. Extremely courteous guest services, excellent property. There was some construction, but it caused no problems.
  5. Using this site's PRICELINE link and the rebid process (only two bid options) - I landed the Hilton Head Marriott Resort And Spa for $70. Direct booking price was $109, and the express deal resort offer was $77. Very happy with the result, even with the additional $15 resort fee.
  6. Using this sites PRICELINE link.. I started bidding at $40 for a 4* weekend getaway at in Atlanta Downtown/Midtown/Buckhead. Using rebid options, won the Marriott Marquis at $64. I am very pleased, as we have dinner plans downtown ATL on that Sat. night. Thanks and kudos to BetterBidding and this forum for what you have taught me about Priceline bid strategies.
  7. I can confirm that this property is the Holiday Inn Munich-South. I was able to book for the dates 9/8 - 9/15 at $90. Am extremely pleased with this booking so close to Oktoberfest. Thanks again.
  8. Affirmatyive - sorry - 'High Speed' Internet Wish we had better correlation, but looks like a decent deal for the area and time of our trip. Am also studying the PL successes in the Munich area, and this is not much above that. I always use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links :) Thanks thereuare
  9. Looking on HotWire to stay in Munich 9/7 - 9/13. A 4* Munich South Unterhaching came up at $92. 2.5 to 7 miles from city center. Amenities = Fitness, pool, Restaurant, Business center and Golf nearby. quick google reveals a Holiday Inn in Munich-Untherhaching - any information on this hotel?
  10. Thanks for the input, I suspect (as gallus50) that this is a bit late for bargain shopping. I'll keep playing around as time permits and test with low prices - If i land a deal that's great, if not, I'll break out the grill at home and save the petrol.
  11. Bargain shopping on this Resort level at Myrtle for 6/26 - 6/29 so far am up to $80 ($45 start, as if) after eight tries. Is it likely to help as I wait closer to 6/26? Any suggestions? Thanks
  12. Using the BetterBidding PRICELINE link - Successfully bid 3* Charleston - Tides Folly Beach Ocenfront at $60 on 12/26 - 12/30 BetterBidding rocks!
  13. Looking for beachfront in Folly Beach, Charleston - Already searched the forum's hotel lists and queried for Folly, didn't see much on Folly posted. 3* Priceline hotel listing shows Tides Folly Beach Oceanfront @ $71 (well it showed $71 once, now it shows $84) HW shows oceanfront, Folly @ $89 Any information on whether bidding 3* Folly Beach would likely land a beachfront location, or possibly this hotel?? Plus - starting bid suggestions? Friends who have been in the area say Tide's is the only hotel there, and used to be a Holiday Inn. Trying to get a good discount for my parents. Am considering bidding using the two available (non 3*) rebid zones, but would feel better if I could get a better idea on what 3* we're likely to land. Thanks again.
  14. Trying to identify a 3* hotwire in Folly Beach for 12/26 - 12/30, HW shows $89 - amenities: Beachfront, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Golf/Tennis nearby My guess is Tides Folly Beach Oceanfront? and what's the chance this is the same 3* Folly location in priceline for $71 ?? (update - PL DID show $71, now its shows $84, maybe I shoulda jumped) Thanks
  15. Bid success on 3* Columbia (Central) Marriott using this sites PRICELINE link for one night, 10/24/2010 $35 - Central (rejected) - started adding areas without 3* hotels: $40 - Central + Airport (rejected) $45 - Central + Airport + Ft. Jackson (rejected) $50 - Central +Airport + Ft. Jackson + Lexington (accepted!) We are very pleased with a Marriott hotel at $50 - direct booking for this date was $139. I was a little less pleased to see a parking fee at $10/day. Still a great deal versus full retail. Thanks PRICELINE and BetterBidding.com. This site rocks.
  16. Thanks for the reply. As travel time gets closer, I'll be revisiting the search, and will post back results. Best Regards to the BetterBidding family.
  17. Certainly - Check in 10/24/2010, Check out 10/25/2010 (One night, two adults). Prefer southeast of Columbia (Ft Jackson), but PL/HW don't seem to cover hotels in that area But 3* Central Columbia will work just fine. Thanks much thereuare
  18. Can anyone identify : 3* Central Columbia, amenities are business center, fitness, 'high speed' internet Thanks in advance
  19. Mr/Ms Admin - meant to add "Marriott Residence Inn Buckhead Lenox Park" to the subject line, but can't seem to find a way after submitting. Thanks
  20. I was shopping for two rooms, one night in Buckhead, Atlanta on 7/23/10. Using this site's PRICELINE link, I started bidding for 3* Buckhead at $32. Working in $2 increments by adding the other Atlanta sites w/out 3* hotels, I had no success on day #1 up to $42. Today I resumed bidding at $42, again with $2 increments, and had a successful $46 bid for the Marriott Residence Inn Buckhead Lenox Park! :) This property direct books at $89. Thanks BetterBidding.com, and Priceline.
  21. Success !! The third day continuing with the bid strategy (outlined above). Started bidding at $58. On the interim bid at $60, Priceline encouraged a $17 increment. I ignored that and continued with my bidding strategy until my max bid was accepted: $65 for Renaissance Asheville. We couldn't be happier. Direct book for this hotel is $159, our final price (after taxes, fees) is $80.63 I am a BetterBidding.com devotee. This was using the PRICELINE link.
  22. Quick update - Day two, so far no luck Bid $48 Downtown = rejected Re-bid $50 Downtown + Biltmore Mall (no 3.5*) = rejected Re-bid $52 Downtown + Biltmore Mall + West (no 3.5*) = rejected Re-bid $54 Downtown + Biltmore Mall + West + East (no 3.5*) = rejected Re-bid $56 Downtown + Biltmore Mall + West + East + Airport (no 3.5*) = rejected I am trying again tomorrow, probably with a max bid at $65. If that's not successful, I will try starting over with 3* area hotels.
  23. Bidding for a 3.5* hotel in Asheville (Downtown-Biltmore) one night April 18. After studying bid successes in the forum for 3.5* in that area, (Crown Plaza and Renaissance, $50 and $65): I decided to seek the lowest bid that would be accepted: Bid $38 Downtown = rejected Re-bid $40 Downtown + Biltmore Mall (no 3.5*) = rejected Re-bid $43 Downtown + Biltmore Mall + West (no 3.5*) = rejected Re-bid $45 Downtown + Biltmore Mall + West + East (no 3.5*) = rejected Re-bid $47 Downtown + Biltmore Mall + West + East + Airport (no 3.5*) = rejected With bidding opportunities exausted for today (without dropping to 3*), I Will resume tomorrow and post results. Kudos to BetterBidding.com - this site rocks! As always, bid with this site's PRICELINE link: PRICELINE
