  1. Hmm, I'm not sure on my desired max. As low as possible :) Looks like someone got $75 for a 4* in that area, so hopefully around there. Thanks!
  2. Hello all, I'm a bit confused on a strat for rebidding... I'm looking to visit the Smithsonian and would like to book a 4* hotel in the Convention Ctr - Capitol Hill area of Washington, DC for the night of 8/19. Can any helpful user suggest a strat for rebidding? I think I narrowed down my free rebids as: Free bids -> Bethesda -> DC Suburbs - NE Area -> Silver Spring but I read in another post people were getting 5 rebids? Thanks in advance for any assistance!
  3. Argh! Damnit! I originally tried those dates and was rejected up through $90. Any hints on how you were able to get those dates? Does bidding on a Monday help? Any idea if I can cancel reservations and rebid? :)
  4. Bidding spanned over like 5 days.. started with a crazy lowball price of $50. My days were flexible, and after 2 days, I discovered that shifting my vacation from 8/12 - 8/16 to 8/15 - 8/19 guaranteed me the Westin (my preferred hotel), as the Founders Inn, the other 4* hotel in Virginia Beach, had no rooms available for those new dates. (I learned this by searching for 4 star hotels on PRICELINE with my new dates, Founders Inn wasn't in search results. I confirmed by using the reservations process on the Founders Inn site itself, it said rooms were not available for those dates) Armed with this knowledge, I had like 8 rebids to try to land the Westin. I started with $80, incrementing by $5 each attempt, and was finally accepted at $110. A little higher than I thought I would get it, since the last 4* bid was won at $90 for the Founders Inn, but I guess I'm the first to win a bid in August.
