  1. Searched for a 3 & 1/2 star hotel in the Newport/Convington Area. Got this deal after starting at $60, and then increasing my bids by $5 and adding areas with no 3 1/2 start hotels. Took me three more bids (Added Sharonville, Fairfield and Mariemont) before winning. Priceline Express Deals had Newport-Covington Area Hotel, 3 1/2 stars, Indoor or Outdoor pool and Fitness Center, Guest Score 7.0 out of 10 or higher; for $80/night (reg.$174) Hotwire had Covington Riverfront area all-suites hotel 3 1/2 stars, Complimentary Free Breakfast, Amenities - Business center, Fitness center, Indoor pool(s), Pet friendly Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Self-service laundry, Suite; 95% recommended (177) Amazing! Hot Rate Hotel $85/night; TripAdvisor 4 out of 5 (501-1000 reviews); Hotwire Customer Reviews 95% This was the hotel I was trying to book! I'm very pleased with the results and, as always, thank Better Bidding for your help!
  2. I got a winning bid for a 4-star room for two nights at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza. I had been bidding on 4-star rooms for about the past week, wanting to stay in Downtown Cincinnati as opposed to across the river in Covington, but never had success. So today I lowered my expectations to a 3 1/2 star and started my bidding again, determined to go to whatever amount I needed to book a room. I started at $65 and increased my bid $5 at a time and added areas where I knew there wouldn't be a 3 1/2 star hotel by using the pinned Priceline hotel list. I even included the Convington area in my bids this time, tho, just wanting to get my room for this stay. Much to my surprise the Hilton Netherland Plaza came up at the $85 mark! I am very pleased with this bid especially having compared prices on the Pricline Express Deals, Hotwire and Hotels.com. Thank you Better Bidding for your help! :D
  3. I had been bidding for a 4-star Downtwon and have had past luck winning reservations at The Westin. I went as high as $80 over several days dating back through the past two weeks. I believed I could get the Millenium basically whenever I wanted and I was pretty much proven right. Bid $50 with my first bid for 3.5* Downtown only. It was not accepted. Added Fort Mitchell to my search (there are no 3.5* hotels there), rebid at $55 and was accepted. No hassles, no troubles, and highly recommended. The Millenium was a nice hotel but did not come close to the star rating for the Westin. Still it's a good price for a clean downtown Cincy hotel, 6 blocks or so from the stadium. This weekend, (9/11) is the 25th anniversary of Pete Rose breaking Ty Cobb's all -time hits record, so they are letting Pete back on the field for Saturday night's game. We also have great seats for Sunday. It's Meijer Family day - you buy your first ticket at full price and all others are half-priced! If I could lay over until Monday night, I could catch WWE RAW! Anyway, I always try to use the site PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links and am pleased with the results.
  4. I had been trying for the past couple of days for a four star stay for Downtown Cincinnati or Riverfront/Covington. No luck up through a $70 bid! I went ahead and accepted a 3.5 star rating and started over bidding $40, $45 & $50 before getting my $55 bid accepted at the Millenium Hotel. We are coming to town to see the Reds on Friday night vs the Colorado Rockies. They have special fireworks, a salute to the 1990 Reds team and M.C. Hammer performing. I also got a deal through the Cincinnati Zoo called the Wild Pitch Combo Deal that lets you gets tix to both the Zoo & the Reds game at a discounted price ($30 total). With taxes & fees, I booked this room for $70.84. Here's what you get with the Wild Pitch Combo Deal: Your $30 purchase includes:
  5. $39 + fees (x 2 rooms) = $94 total Pool Fitness Center Complimentary Breakfast Business Center High Speed Internet We are traveling thru from West Virginia to Florida and wanted a cheap overnight stay. We needed two rooms. This 2.5* was listed with pool, fitness center, complimentary breakfast, high speed internet and business center. Was hoping for the Wingate by Wyndham which has been listed here as a 3* (and for a similar price!) but on the Priceline site is a 2.5*. I booked thru the link above. The average rate thru Expedia, et al was $75 for a Friday Night. The hotel is actually in Pooler and is located very close to I-95 with easy access! :)
  6. Hi to all! I made bids for one room/two people for a 4-star hotel in (Cincinnati) Downtown-Riverfront through the PRICELINE link here starting at $50. I added areas (first Airport and then University Heights) and upped my bid to $55 and then $59. I didn't think this would be a risk because the only 4-star hotels listed were in the downtown area. I ended up with the hotel I wanted (The Westin) at an excellent price. :) I had previously went to HOTWIRE to look. They had a 3.5* hotel (Fitness center, Pool, restaurant, Business Center, Laundry, High Speed Internet) identified as the Millenium because of the laundry amenity for $59 for the three nights and an unidentified 4* hotel (Fitness center, Pool, restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet) could be Westin or Hilton Netherland Plaza for $77 for the three nights. I plan to go to the Cincinnati Zoo on Friday and then take in the three day series of the Cincinnati Reds vs the St. Louis Cardinals (a Friday night game and day games Saturday & Sunday) with fireworks downtown on Saturday night! P.S. My friend booked a room at the Westin through Expedia for $109 per night for the same period. :)
