  1. Is it too soon to be bidding on these dates? I have failed bids at $165 Times Sq. theatre dist. 4* and

    MSG 3* $110.

I have a cancellable reservation for $179 at Comfort Inn Times square just in case.-so I don't want to go over that. and it includes breakfast.

    When is hotel inventory released?

    Thank you.

  2. Best Western Lake Buena Vista was quite a shock. It was one of the dirtiest hotels I've ever been in. I'd definately avoid bidding on this star level and zone to avoid this hotel. Add a $9.00 resort fee.

Many items in the room did not function properly: Television had a very fuzzy picture, telephone would not dial the front desk, air condition unit did not function properly, the door fell off the chest of drawers when I opened it, the safe did not function, the toilet would not flush unless you held down the handle for 60 seconds. (this was all in one night).

Best Western and Disney (it is an "official" Downtown Disney property) should be ashamed of this mess.

I could not drink enough wine to make this place pretty. :) :) :o :)

  3. New hotel, about 2 miles off the turnpike. Highly recommended. About a 15 minute drive to downtown Stuart FL.

We had an excellent experience at this property. The outside courtyard is very nice, with a pool, upscale seating and fire place pit.

  4. I bid $40 , then made my way up to $47 and won. This is a great location for my needs. Very happy with the results.

I had bid up to $52. on a 3 1/2* with no luck.

I had bid up to $67 on Resort with no luck. All my bids were the Lake Buena Vista zone only.

Winning bid $47- total with taxes $60.52. Best Western Resort, Lake Buena Vista.

On the Best Western website it was $77.00, and $96.73 with taxes.

    Quite a nice savings.

    I used your PRICELINE link.

    Thank you.

  5. I've been researching the bed situation in New York City. Since so many hotels have rooms w/ only 1 double bed- even in the 4 star hotels, I've had an idea. If I book 3 adults, 1 room, that will guarantee I will not have just 1 bed in the room right?

It's just me and hubby, but one double bed isn't an option.

    Thanks.

Trip is in June 8-12, so I've got some time.

Will use your link to HW to proceed.

  6. My trip is June 8-12, for 2 adults.

I definately do not want 1 double bed.

I have gone thru the Pinned list of hotels. In Times Sq-Theatre Dist. (priceline) all 4* hotels have acceptable beds, either 1 king, or 2 double beds. I have gone to their websites of each hotel and checked their available bed types.

Would I be safe bidding on just the TS-TD 4* zone?

    Thanks

Again, I will use your PRICELINE link to bid- as you are a great help.

  7. I've bid for hotels-with your help- and had great success. I need BASIC strategy as I am new to car bidding.

On Hotwire the prices are:before taxes:

    Economy $29.95/day

    Compact $30.95/day

    Mid size 32.95

    Standard 34.95

    Full size 34.95

Plus, I have bonus Money of $35. for the week on a standard car or higher.

I have already bid $20. and $5.83/day bonus money was added for standard and got rejected. (total bid $25.83)

Please advise me on a lowball strategy of how to proceed, since I have some time.

A compact would be fine, but a standard using bonus money would be nicer.

Economy would be acceptable at a very low price.

    (It is a holiday week)

What size car do I start bidding on to be able to add more car sizes?

I used your PRICELINE link for my bid yeterday.

    Thank you.

  8. I started bidding at $55 moved up a few dollars each day, won at $62.

For comparison: total bill with taxes:

    Priceline $218.

Hotwire $247 (An educated guess on which 4* resort)

    Hotel website $417.

To ALL the above rates a $25. resort fee per day applies- includes parking, beach cabanas, in room safe, beach towels, heated pool. Which I have in writing from the hotel. They were kind enough to fax it to me

BEFORE I bid. I didn't want to take a chance they could raise it at check in.

Keep that resort fee in mind when you bid.

I used your link to PRICELINE.

    thanks

    cardsfan.

  9. followup-

Using your great help, i won: TradeWinds Island Grand- St. Petersburg Beach 4 star.

    PRICELINE bid of $62 per nite , 4 star, Nov. 21, 22, 23.

    Total with taxes $218.73

For comparison, the same nites , total with taxes:

Hotwire = $247. (guessed at which 4 star hotel)

    Hotel website= $417.

woo hoo, I'm happy as a clam.

(keep in mind a $28 per nite resort charge would be added to all the those prices) includes, free parking, cabanas on the beach , in room safe, beach towels)

And I used your link to PRICELINE to bid.
