  1. It is also now saying the last person got the Michelangelo hotel. Does that mean that's what it is? I've never seen that before.
  2. Would like to book a hotel in the times square area Dec 17-20. Seeing $225 per night for a 4.5* with listed amenities of business, fitness, internet access, pet-friendly, restaurant and roll in shower. 95% recommended on 86 reviews. A couple questions: 1. Which hotel is this? 2. We have 2 adults and 2 kids listed when I searched. What kind of possible room configurations will there be? Would it put me in a room with two double beds? (I am 6'4" and can't sleep on a double). Thanks!

  4. Looking for a hotel to do some christmas shopping/sightseeing in chicago. Found the following for december 6 for one night: 4 stars, mag mile/wacker 160 dollars fitness, restaurant, pool, business, internet, spa. i think this is the w hotel lakeshore. do you agree? also, would this be a good homebase for city shopping? thanks so much
  5. I'm trying to find a hotel for one night in chicago for April 8th. EVERYTHING is booked, and hotwire's cheapest rate is 372 per night! any suggestions--should i wait until the last minute? i think the cubs are in town for opening weekend, but that wouldn't book up the whole city, would it? they sell out every game, so wouldn't the whole city be booked for the whole season if that was the case?
  6. i didn't book through hotwire. i ended up booking at the hotel indigo through their website for around 120/night. it looks like a cool little hotel, we'll see. i did end up booking another hotel for january 14 in the same area. i had pretty much the same choices, though the prices were different. this time i booked the 4star mag mile/wacker. the amenities listed were rest, fitness, spa, internet, business. it was a customer favorite and listed the following comments: "I enjoyed my stay and the hotel. The location was nice, downtown just south of the river, and very accessible to all locations via walking, train, or taxi. The hotel was clean and well managed, just what you would expect from a four-star hotel." - Mark C. from Madison, Wisconsin Length of stay: 2 days "We were in Chicago for the marathon and this was a great location. The hotel was close to everything... restaurants, museums, the pier, etc. We walked everywhere. The room was clean and nice, and the staff was very attentive. I highly recommend it!" - Jeffrey H. from Atlanta, Georgia Length of stay: 3 days "Great Hotel. We loved the central location in Chicago. The staff was most accommodating in getting us into a terrific room." - Robert S. from Effingham, Illinois Length of stay: 1 day the price was 69 dollars for one night, or 86 with tax. the hotel ended up being the hyatt regency on wacker. the only bad part is they charge 40 dollars for parking. hopefully there will be something nearby for a little more reasonable fee.
  7. also, is it possible to get two beds when you book through hotwire?
  8. looking to stay with a friend downtown on december 10-11. would like to go shopping at water tower and see the chrsitmas windows at fields. i thought the nma location would be best, but if anyone suggests otherwise, i'd listen. the 3* nma hotel is 99$, lists rest, fitness, spa, internet, golf nearby, tennis nearby, business there is also a 4* mag mile-wacker customer favorite for 149, lists rest, fitness, spa, tennis. favorites say "i give this hotel five stars" "this is a beautiful luxury hotel" and "this was the nicest hotel i have had the pleasure in staying in" any help?
  9. Wondering if anyone could offer me some help. Looking to book a hotel for December 11, 1 night in the michigan ave area. What comes up is a 4.5* hotel for $157. The listed features are botique hotel, restaurant, fitness center, business center. Looking at the lsit on this site, it appears this would be the Burnham hotel. Does anyone out there think this is correct. Also, The Burnhams "rack" rate for that and any other night is $199. Is the quoted price of 157 likely to change up or down (i realize you have no crystal ball). Finally, does the amount of traffic for a particular set of search criteria affect the price? that is, if i keep checking the site using the same parameters each day, is the hotwire computer going to think there's lots of interest in that scenario, and increase the price? thanks a ton for any help you can provide. tom
