Thanks.. We decided to go to a different location (Florida) instead of booking this hotel. I was able to close out the Atlanta Hotel post and will add to the calendar of wins for Miami.

We ended up staying at the conference hotel for the remaining nights and used the group rate to book.

It has 64 bookings in the past 24 hours. I am debating whether I should try priceline first or just go with this since if it is the Sheraton, that would be an acceptable solution. Tried to extend stay with no success to Marriott Gran Marq for 8/11-8/13; Going to a conference on 8/11 and 8/12 to be held at Westin Peachtree Plaza; am open to staying near or at that hotel for 8/11 and 8/12 and/or extending my stay at the Marriot. . . .Your feedback is appreciated. Maximum bid is 85$; block of hotel rooms are available for about 110 per night at the Westin for conference attendees.

Tried to stay from 8/11-8/16 and was unsuccesful. . .bid up to 85$ using free rebids, waited tried weekend only for 75$ and won on first attempt; am going to convention being held at this hotel :) Tried to extend stay with no success; it seems like rates are higher during the week. . First Bid of 70$ on a 4 star in this area, 2nd bid added 3.5 and raised bidding price. (Didn't add any free rebid zones since I wasn't really stuck on the 4* thing) Husband is going to a conference at this hotel and we were just hoping to be in the area, so needless to say I am pumped that we got the actual conference hotel :) In hindsight, perhaps I would have started bidding a bit lower but hey, it worked out great so I am pleased! Of course, I used the PRICELINE link :) Thanks!

Just to close this out, the bidding strategy didn't work and I was able to book directly through Expedia for approximately 90$ (they had a buy 2 nights get the thrid free promotion that included free parking), it was worth the premium to me to stay in the actual hotel. Thanks for the advice! I will always use your links when I purchase a room.

Hello All, I am going to a conference at the Hilton Mark Center in Alexandria from 2/25-2/28. I'd prefer to stay at that hotel, but for the right price, I can be flexible. Through Hilton's website I was able to find an advanced payment rate of 104 per night. . .I would like advice on whether or not I should attempt to bid for the general area in the hopes of getting something signifcantly cheaper (Approximately 70$ or less per night of comparable quality) and if so, what bidding strategy I should use! Just to let you know, I used the Westin link and booked directly with Westin after no success up to and including 95$. I decided I'd rather pay a bit extra to know exactly what I was getting. Thanks for the help!

Good Afternoon, I am looking for a hotel for 7/10-7/13 in Virginia Beach. I have tried (using the PRICELINE link of course :) bidding up to 90$ for a 4* hotel in the Pembroke Area, using free rebids and haven't had any luck. I would also be open to staying in the seaside area at a 3* property. However, while searching on the Westin website, I found The Westin Virginia Beach Town Center for 338 (not including taxes) for the dates I need using a promotional code. Do you think I should wait and continue bidding thru priceline or book via Westin's website (seems like a pretty good deal). Also, if there is a link I can use to book Westin to give you credit, that would be appreciated!
