  1. The hotel is in Rome Central. We just cancelled our trip to Italyas we got word we must fly to Tulsa to adopt a baby next week. Next time I'll buy trip cancellation insurance. I just figured I wouldn't get such news a few days before we left so it was safe to book.
  2. We just got word that we can adopt a baby next week. We were supposed to go to Europe this weekend and had to cancel our trip. I know there is probably very little chance of getting a refund from Priceline as I didn't buy Priceline's trip cancellation insurance. Is there any point in trying? I booked one hotel in Rome from Oct. 18-20, and one in Milan on Nov. 6 (see other posts with rates). I know that loosing the money is not a big deal in comparision to what we will bet getting, but it would be nice to get our money back if possible. Thanks in advance for your advice.
  3. Got the Starhotels Metropole near train station for two nights on 10/18 for $180. Other sites have it listed at 3.5 stars.
  4. We are booked at Le Meridien in Milan at $125 a night on Nov. 6, 2004 for one night. I don't think we got a very good deal as the hotel is offering superior rooms that have been refurbished at $174 a night on those dates. We will probably be put in a standard room, that was the subject of the reviews, which probably costs close to what we paid. The poor reviews were posted by Priceline bidders as well. It is not worth trying to get a refund. We will just use it as an overnight night stop before flying home, and will be sure not to walk around the area. Thanks for your help.
  5. Starting Bid $100. Won at $125. Now concerned after reading reviews on tripadvisor.com that hotel is really not 5* quality (even under European standards), in a seedy area, poor service, and room badly in need of renovation. Would appreciate advice on whether I can get a refund from Priceline.
