  1. Reserved a backup at the Hotel Dylan for $226/Night King on Quickbook. What do you think of that hotel? I will keep trying Priceline in the meantime. The good thing about Quickbook is you can cancel for only $10!
  2. Got the rebidding down. This time went as high at $195 for MTW UM and MS. No luck still. Where do you think I will need to be in order to get a 4 star? How about a 3 star?
  3. So far have tried up to 180 on MTE, W and UM with no luck. Will try again in a few days and keep you updated. Thanks again for your insight!
  4. Thanks! When you say rebid a zone do you mean wait 3 days if the first steps aren't accepted? Thanks...you have been super helpful.
  5. I actually have an internal wireless card in my laptop so there's a chance I could pick up an errant signal but if not I can always take it to Starbucks! So basically I am willing to take the risk...!
  6. First of all, GO BLUE! I am up for CPS MS or MTW. Don't really want to get stuck too far East MTE (assuming the 4 stars go past 3rd Ave.) I would like to stay under 180ish but can go a bit higher if need be. Also, can I expect that the 4 star hotels will have High Speed Internet? I know that The Helmsley doesn't but according to other travel sites it's only a 3.5* so even if it's a Priceline hotel, perhaps it wouldn't show up? I am open to your suggestions. The logic of bidding early sounds pretty good to me. Where would you suggest starting price wise?
  7. Any bidding advice as to when I should start bidding on rooms? In July, I stayed at the Sofitel for $179 and bid a couple of weeks before my trip. Would prefer MT but not MTE. Basically, does your luck increase as you get closer to the day or is there a real chance that most hotels will fill up. Thanks!
