I've bid up to $190 without success. I'm willing to go as high as $200. Can you suggest a bidding strategy?

Can you comment on my strategy so far and offer any suggestions? I was hoping to get a winning bid at about $170/night.

I'm bidding for a Resort level room at the Ihilani for 8/13-8/21. I started with Ihilani and Diamond Head Area at $170. I increased my bid by adding additional zones (Executive Center, Honolulu Airport) without success. Each time the median retail price for Resort level hotel room was listed at $359. However, when I re-bid by adding Waikiki City Central, the median price went down to $209, even though Waikiki City Central does not include Resort level hotel. Can anyone explain why? Is there a "hidden" Resort hotel in this area, that PL is not showing? I have not re-bid by including Waikiki City Center.

I "re-started" at $60 and upped my way to $70 (by adding zones), which was accepted. Sheraton Cerritos At Towne Center Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $70.00 Subtotal: $280.00 Taxes and Services Fees: $44.93 Total Charges*: $324.93

I've been unsuccessfully bidding on PL for the following: 3.5* Orange County (Buena Park - Cerritos - Cypress) Cerritos Sheraton 7/22/09-7/26/09 I started at $45 and over the past few days went as high as $60 in $5 increments, as well as adding other zones (with less than 3.5*). At $60, I was told that I would get the room by adding $17 to my bid. (I didn't accept this offer) Am I bidding too low? Please advice. Thanks.
