  1. Is this the place you stayed at? <removed> If so, its unbelievable you received that heavily discounted rate. That's awesome!
  2. The reviews about the Intercontinental only specify the Bloor St. location. I apologize for not specifying that I need info about the Downtown Toronto Center (225 Front St West) location. I will have a choice of 3* and 4* using Priceline.
  3. Hi everyone. We are going on another trip to Toronto hopefully this month if my wife gets Sep. 29 & 30 off from work (PLEASE PRAY). I'm usually the one who books the trips, we're taking her brother and his girlfriend on their first trip to T.O. (my wife & I have been there about 5 times). I've been browsing the forum and I see some people have stayed at the Sheraton (Downtown). Can anyone help me out? We've stayed at the Intercontinental (Downtown) and absolutely loved it. Is the Sheraton a better deal? Sheraton or Intercontinental?
  4. dahammer, I would like to thank you for telling me about the Spanish Tavern. It might of been the best spanish food I have ever tasted (besides my mom). I got a little tipsy with the five glasses of sangria. My wife and I ordered Fried Calamari for appetizers and the Paella Valenciada for the main. You were right about the staff being very attentive. Next time we're in NYC its going to be Spanish Tavern for dinner. The neighborhood wasn't even bad.... I've seen much worse. The hotel was good. While we were trying to check-in we had to wait in line for about 15 minutes. They never even made the bed on the second day we stayed there...all they did was throw the sheets on top of the bed. I didn't mind because it was our anniversary and they were going to end up on the floor anyway. We also went to IKEA and absolutely loved it. She went crazy walking just looking at everything and how inexpensive they were. Of course we ended up getting about six bags full of stuff. A wise old man once told me, "Happy Wife, Happy Life" and I know why.
  5. Thanks for the quick reply. I usually don't eat at restaurants located in the actual hotel. How far is the Spanish Tavern from the hotel? Also, what's wrong with the neighborhood? I don't get putoff too easily. I grew up in the Bronx...we get brought up tough! My wife and I are driving to Jersey so we will be willing to drive just about anywhere. She has already committed me to take her to IKEA.
  6. I was upgraded to a 3* hotel Your Offer Price: $55.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $110.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $24.02 Total Charges: $134.02 I received this hotel after my third attempt. I tried to get Jersey City and was rejected, then Secaucus-North Bergen for my second attempt and also rejected. After my third attempt, the $55 price was finally accepted. Has anyone stayed at this hotel (Wyndham Newark Airport Hotel)? August 3 is our 3rd wedding anniversary, does anyone have any suggestions on places to eat that doesn't hurt the budget? Is this hotel close to a PATH station?
  7. Hyatt Regency Buffalo 3-star Remote control TV w/ premium channels Radio Alarm Clock Business services Telephone w/ voicemail Iron and ironing board Hairdryer 24 hour front desk Restaurant Room service Check-In Date: Friday, July 8, 2005 Check-Out Date: Sunday, July 10, 2005 Your Offer Price: $45.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $90.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $20.10 Total Charges: $110.10 I originally placed a bid for a 2.5* hotel already knowing that the Hyatt was the 3* (because of previous posts by other members) but received a free upgrade from Priceline to a 3* hotel. I wanted to see what the 2.5* was so I can post it on the forum. The Hyatt isn't bad if you don't have alot of luggage. The reason I say that is because the parking lot is located kiddy corner from the hotel. When you check-in, you can pay $8-$12 and the front desk and they'll give you in-and-out access parking priviledges. I hope this post helps. If you have any questions let me know.
  8. Gotcha. Downtown Buffalo is definately not a hotspot. If anyone goes there and like nightclubs and drinking, I recommend the Chippewa St. area. Good thing about the Hyatt is that it's close to the "action" downtown and you can stagger yourself back to the hotel. I'll let you guys know what the outcome of the bidding was when I get back and also if I broke my Long Island Icetea drinking record.
  9. I know that this post is very late. We both decided not to stay at a resort in San Juan. We decided to save the money and stay at my aunt's very nice apartment in Carolina, PR. The dates that we were there were 2/13 - 2/19. We spent the money we saved on clothes and shoes (majority for the wife of course).
  10. I apologize about that. We're supposed to be staying there July 8 - 10. I haven't made a decision if to go with the Hyatt or whatever the 2.5* hotel is.
  11. Hi guys. I'm looking for a room in Buffalo, NY (Downtown). I've stayed at the Hyatt Downtown which is a 3* in previous occasions using Priceline. We really want to stay at The Adam's Mark, which is closeby (and looks really nice) just to see how its like but I'm not sure if its a 2.5* hotel now or what? The reason I ask that is because all the recent post with a 3* hotel in Downtown Buffalo all have been the Hyatt unless you go through posts from 2003 which show The Adam's Mark being the 3* hotel. I hope that someone can help me out here. Thanks!

  13. Hi, I'm also looking for a Resort in San Juan. If a Resort can't be obtained the I'll settle for the next step down. Has anyone stayed at a Resort or an upscale hotel in San Juan? I'm looking into paying $140/night. What can I get into?

  15. I can't find any hotel info in this forum about Niagara Falls, Canada. Has anyone used Hotwire or Priceline to book a hotel in this city? If so, please let me know. I appreciate all your help.
