  1. Hi, After making last-minute plans to go to Sea World, I hoped to land a room in one of the resorts close to the park but my bids were repeatedly rejected. I ended up changing hotel areas, adding hotel categories and increasing price offers for a few days until my offer of $72 was accepted at this Marriott. It's not the resort nor the area I originally wanted but I am hoping this hotel will work just fine for our needs. As close as it is to the arrival date, hotel prices may have gone up with decreasing inventory. Offer price - $72 Taxes/Fees - 19.83 Total - 91.83 The PRICELINE link in this website was used for this purchase. dealsshopper
  2. Accepted bid at $50 per night for two rooms. Including taxes, total charge was $120.+ Despite not-so-good reviews for this hotel in other sites, I was pleasantly surprised. This hotel was nice and the staff very helpful. Upon check-in, the lady assisting us did mention that we are already prepaid through Priceline.com. I asked if we could get rooms with two beds each and she said that was already indicated in my reservation. We were given rooms on the first floor which of course were easily accessible and very convenient. Beds were comfortable. We had a great dinner at the Uno Chicago Grill next door to the hotel. Shuttle service was available every 30 minutes from 2:00 a.m. to midnight. Overall, it was a good hotel for a short trip, although not as convenient as other "on-site" airport hotels. There was a 10-15 minute ride to the airport but thankfully we didn't have any traffic since we left the hotel at 4:00 a.m. The driver was helpful and friendly even at that early hour. :-) dealsshopper
  3. Stayed 6/6-6/7, 2009; booked two rooms through Priceline for $70/night Fast and easy check-in. Was given rooms with two beds in each room, which was what we needed. The lady who checked us in briefly mentioned our stay being prepaid, but did not say anything about Priceline. Great location; lobby was very spacious (though sparsely furnished); rooms were nice and beds comfortable. No problem with noise despite proximity to airport. Shuttle service to the airport terminals as well as the airport T station was very convenient (leaves hotel every 15 minutes). Drivers not too impressive but got us where we needed to be. Overall, I found the hotel to be a good place to stay for short trips to Boston, especially if traveler has early morning or late night flights.
  4. Hi, We just returned from our trip and had a good experience at the Boston Hilton. Other than a brief mention of our stay already being prepaid, we were given our two rooms with two beds in each room (which was ideal for our family size). Due to a short stay, we relied on the hotel's convenient shuttle service (leaves every 15 minutes) to take us to and from the airport and or train/subway station. I was not particularly impressed with the drivers but they have us where we needed to be and the rest of the hotel staff was helpful. I appreciate this site for the advise regarding our transportation needs. Also as someone else here mentioned, there was no problem with noise, considering its direct proximity to the airport. Overall, I would not mind staying in this hotel again especially for short trips into and out of Boston. dealsshopper
  5. Hi, I wanted to follow up on the post I made regarding this purchase. We just returned from our two-night stay at this hotel and we were very pleased with our experience. The 3* Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Addison (Dallas North Galleria area) was perfect for our needs. We found the city of Addison to be very nice, and there are many good restaurants within walking distance to and from our hotel. The hotel is close to two major highways (Dallas Parkway/Tollway and Lyndon B. Johnson Parkway or I-635) so we were able to get to and from where we needed to be within 15 minutes. The free breakfast had a variety of hot and cold entrees, which we enjoyed before leaving the hotel early each morning. The paper was left by our door every morning. There was internet connection in our room and the people in the service desk were friendly and helpful. All these for $34/night plus tax. :-) If anyone has a chance to get this hotel, I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. 6. I used the HOTWIRE link here yesterday to get a rental car (minivan) at Boston Logan Airport from 6/7/09-6/13/09. The rates were the cheapest I could find anywhere. I was hoping to get a better deal by bidding for a car at PRICELINE (again using the links here) but for several days my offers (always lower than the Hotwire price) were rejected. Since our departure date is approaching. I didn't want to run the risk of Hotwire's price going up even more. The price I paid ($38.95/day) was more than what it was a week ago - am not sure if it would have gone back down to $34.95/day as it gets closer to June. Anyway, the rental agency turned out to be Alamo. The (opaque) total purchase price at Hotwire was $372.26. I checked the Priceline (non-opaque), Orbitz and Travelocity sites and the Alamo rates there showed a total of $610 (incl. tax and fees) for the same time period. We have been pleased with our car rental experiences through Hotwire in the past. Hopefully this trip will be no exception. :-) Will let you know. dealsshopper
  7. Hi, I bid for several days for two rooms in a 4* hotel in the Logan airport area for June 6-7 and my offers had been rejected. I had used a PL $5/room coupon to add to my bid and consequently made offers that total ranging from $45 - $65 per night but they still did not accept. I eventually added the Waterfront Convention and the Quincy Financial District areas in my search. When I increased my bid to $65, and PL added the $5 coupon for a total bid of $70, my offer was accepted. Previous posts showed this hotel being "won" with $65 bids, so I wondered if the extra $5 coupon made a difference; however I do realize that prices can be date-sensitive as well. I checked Hotwire prior to making my bids and their cheapest 4* in the Logan area was going for $99. Here are the details of what I was charged: Offer per room per night: $65.00 Subtotal : $130.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $26.52 Total Charges: $154.52 Will try to report back on our stay. I understand that parking can be hassle and rather expensive at the hotel, so is there a way to not have to rent a car and see some of the sights if we are only staying in the Boston area for less than 24 hours? I read a post here from a lady who lives in Boston (Beth?? but can't seem to find her post now) who said there is an airport subway stop? I'd appreciate the input. dealsshopper
  8. Hi, I am new to this site but just wanted to share a recent "purchase" through HOTWIRE. We needed a room in Dallas for two nights and ended up getting the Holiday Inn Express and Suites for $34 per night plus tax. Other amenities include breakfast, fitness room, pool, and internet connection. We are looking forward to our stay. dealsshopper
