  1. We stayed here for two nights for a friend's wedding in late October 2010. We won this hotel on Priceline and when we looked it up, we found out that some of the rooms are smoking rooms. I called and requested a non-smoking room, but they said they were booked. When we got there, the person checking us in saw our request and offered us a handicapped-accessible non-smoking room, which we gladly took. When we got to the room, it still smelled faintly of smoke, and there was a strong bad odor in the entryway of the room. I'm not sure what it was from, but it smelled terrible. The room itself was big enough for the two of us, and the bed was comfortable, although the bedspread was stained. The bathroom was very dark and dingy. After I pulled the shower curtain closed while showering, I could barely see to shave. The room as a whole wasn't the cleanest hotel room I've ever seen, but it wasn't horribly dirty either. We ordered room service for breakfast the first morning, and an hour later, we were still waiting. I called back down to see where our food was, and was told that they had forgotten to take our room number! I'm sorry, shouldn't that be the FIRST thing you ask your guests? they have our food to us within 20 minutes, but they still charged us for it. The hash browns were good, but the toast was stale and the eggs were runny. I know that the restaurant is run separately from the hotel, so this wasn't the hotel's fault, but it's something to consider. The parking was free, it was within walking distance to downtown, and the pool looked nice, although we didn't use it. Overall it was okay, but I don't believe we'll be staying here again.
  2. D'oh...wish I would have seen that sooner. Oh well...this is the first time I've ever been even slightly disappointed with PRICELINE, and hopefully the hotel will still work for us. Thanks!
  3. Used your PRICELINE link, of course! 10/22/10 - 10/24/10 1st bid: 3* St. Paul (St. Paul) @ $50 - rejected 2nd bid: added 2.5* and upped bid to $55 - rejected 3rd bid: used the bidding again strategy to find a different area with only a 1*, added that area and upped bid to $65 - accepted Best Western Kelley Inn - please add this to your Minnesota - St. Paul (St. Paul) list. I'm a little disappointed because it's a few blocks further away than we wanted to be for a wedding reception, and it's not quite as nice of a hotel as I'd hoped. Looking back, I should have either stuck with the 3* and used the bidding again strategy for bid 2, or just waited the 24 hours. But the price is right, and I'll be sure to put a review up when we get back. Thanks!
  4. As always used the PRICELINE link :) $55 for 1 night: November 1, 2009 Always stayed in Downtown Crown Center... Started with 4* and $45 - rejected Went to 3.5* and $50 - rejected Went to 3* and $55 - accepted Not too disappointed because this looks to be a great hotel and it's in the area I needed. Happy with the price too - going directly through the hotel they are asking $139. Taxes and fees were $17.45 bringing the total to $72.45...still half price :) Thanks for your help!
  5. My husband and I stayed here in April of 2009 and got a rate of $120 using Priceline. The rooms were a little small, but hey, it's New York City. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on, and the location was excellent. Be sure to get a burger at the Burger Joint in the lobby.
  6. July 3-6, 2009 First bid (rejected) - 4* Loop & River North @ $40 Second bid (rejected) - 3.5* Loop & River North @ $50 Third bid (accepted) - 3* Loop & River North @ $65 Interesting note: the hotel I ended up getting is listed as a 4*! Second time I have used this site to help my bidding - thank you! Of course I did use your PRICELINE link :)
