  1. oops did I put this in the wrong forum... sorry it's late in the night. can admin please move this to florida's priceline forum :) double sorry
  2. it was actually my first bid :) searching online, including spg, marriot (I have gold with both of them) and didn't really see a 4* on the beach for less than $200 or so... the W is over $300 and since I am traveling in 3 days, I thought I would start a little high and I guess $150 is good for the W. it's a 50% off so I can't complain too much hehe Just reporting a win.
  3. btw, i got 2 rooms, here is the cost break down that priceline sent me, just in case anyone is interestd. added on the fees I got the hotel room for about $80 a night. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $70.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 3 Room Subtotal: $420.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $62.88 (USD) Total Room Cost: $482.88 (USD)
  4. started at $50, went all the way up to $70 with $5 increment and got accepted at $70 Hotel located in West Hong Kong Island. It's a bit high, I was hoping for the same ~$110 for conrad but that bid went all the way to $115 rejected and I stopped. I guess because I was going on a weekend and it's getting close? Anyway, I went down to 4* and got this hotel.
  5. I tried to bid 101 for 8/3-8/5 in victoria last night and got denied on PRICELINE :) I will try to raise to 105 or so tonight and see what happens. My backup is always AAA at $140 a night for Delta and no other fees
  6. Just needed to stay in Miami for one night and saw $72 for a 4.5* on hotwire for Miami downtown area. Says it has spa and is a resort but I searched the forum here but doesn't seems to be identified by anyone. So I decided to use this as a starting point and start my bid with $50 on a 4* on priceline (I did use ref link from here :)) $50 denied $55 accepted
  7. will do :) if I remember to come back to this thread after the travel... still 4 months away heh I don't remember what I did yesterday thanks to TVs and video games... Anyway, I will try to remember :) I usually remember to put the reviews on tripadvisor though if I have something to say about it. like that dirty hotel called mirage in vegas... *shivers*
  8. I guess it's not meant to be. it's now $115 denied. I have extended my stay in Vancouver by a day with the $84 westin bayshore bid so I am now bidding on 8/3-8/5 but still no luck. I am going to use aaa to book a corner room at magnolia for $150 a day. at least that could be canceled just in case a price drop happens, but I don't think it's likely for that time of the season. But hey I got my rental and hotel in vancour from priceline and hotel in seattle at hotwire, 3 out of 4 ain't too bad :) and thanks everyone on the forum for help :) I am sure I will be regularly visiting you guys :o
  9. Sigh.... up to $90 not accepted. and only 1 rebid zone (tried 85 then 90) so now wait for tomorrow for my final bid :) It turned out that Delta showed up on AAA for 109 but when I went ahead to book the room it jumped to $145 or $149 so the cheapest 4* on AAA with member discount is $142 with Magnolia AAA doesn't charge as much fee and Magnolia has free breakfast so it's almost not as expensive and I might just go for that one eventually...
  10. woohoo good for you :o wish I could get that hotel for that price :) but it's not meant to be for summer... but still good for you :)
  11. ok I will :) so a question. I thought 24 hours passed but I guess it didn' t hah, I tried again and it says I have a dupe request but that still showed up on my record as unaccepted at $85. if it's a dupe they didn't even try to match it right? so does that mean my 24-hour wait timer is reset and I have to wait another 24 hours from now? By the way, I could book the Delta on AAA's website for 109 magnolia for 140 and the marriott for 151 so...
  12. Yes I did check HOTWIRE :) 4* downtown came up fir $148 with these: Boutique Hotel Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Restaurant(s) High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Spa Services I am guessing Delta because on Delta's web site I can get the same $148 rate a night. Hopefully I can get a price lower than this. This is the only 4* hotwire offered 3* on HOTWIRE is $102 with: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access HOTWIRE does not have a 3.5* for victoria but for PRICELINE they said 3.5* is the "best deal" so I don't know. but at the moment I am shooting for 4* until it hits my limit of $95 :) then I will try the lower ones. I got time. still 4+ months to go :o
  13. ok I know this is an old thread and last reply was Dec of last year :) but I just bought my first car rental on PRICELINE bidding. the agency ended up to be National, and I am an emerald club member but there is no place to enter the membership number since I learn the agency after paying. I called national custom service and was told that they can't add my membership number to that reservation. The rep on the phone suggested that I give the number to the clerk at the counter when I pick up the car and ask him/her to add it for me. Of course I haven't picked up the car yet so I guess we will see... but I really wanted the ability to pick any car from the aisle for being a member... wonder if they will let me do that.
  14. Probably not the best deal since that's before I discovered this forum haha. I saw a HOTWIRE hot deal a couple of days before my bid on PRICELINE for about $35 a day for a convertible from Thrifty but when i was ready to bid that price went away and replaced by $50ish. so I bid $33 on PRICELINE and got accepted. probably should have started a bit lower but that price is well within my price range. Here are the details the fees and tax are horrible :) Pick-Up Location: National Car Rental SEATTLE ARPT 17801 International Blvd1st Floor Seattle,WA 98158 1-888-227-7368 Your Offer Price: $33.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 8 days(7 days and 23 hours) Subtotal: $264.00 Taxes and Fees: $160.56 Total Charges: $424.56 Lowest Published Price: $618.99 Total Savings:* $194.43 (You saved 31%)
  15. so far it's up to $81 denied... Since victoria only have 2 bidding zones (with airport area nothing over 2.5*) I can't keep trying to bid because I can't change my dates. maybe I will go down to 3.5 or 3* eventually... Was hoping for Delta hah. will keep you guys posted. and I didn't see much talk about getting victoria hotels. I know this is probably the busiest time for victoria hotels so a great deal is probably out of the question... Anyway, I will keep it up and report back my results. oh I did use PRICELINE link :)
  16. Here are the listed amenities This hotel features the following amenities: Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) High-speed Internet Access
  17. yes PRICELINE. I think the price came up on HOTWIRE is higher don't remember exactly what but around $100 for that hotel
  18. PRICELINE came up with a counter offer of $58 for the same hotel but they charge more fee, the final price for HOTWIRE's hot deal came to $140 for 2 nights so I went with this one. Thanks for all the help.
  19. thanks for all the help posted on the forum. I started with $75 got a counter offer of $97 (add $22 for one time only blah blah) retried with $79, $84 and accepted at $84
  20. I just won this hotel from priceline for 7/30-8/2 for $84 a night accepted last night. the total with tax and fee comes to $302 plus change so about $100 a night.
