During my stay in June (9-12?) it was almost full! The pools crowded etc.... strange!
During my last stay in June, the receptionist in JW told me the hotel would be even more booked during Phuket's low-season because they would be hosting quite a lot of meetings/congresses there in the JW Marriott.
Hi LHFlyer, I actually got the Sha-La for Saturday-Monday (September) via Priceline HK (see my respective post).
Posting this though it's already in the past but maybe this bidding strategy (by LHFlyer) might still be working... (haven't seen this been published here on this board yet). Was a bidding for 4-star Phuket (Thalang)... ended in an upgrade to 5-star (up to now there's apparently no 4star in Thalang).

Congratulations, you got your price of $41 for a hotel room, and we've upgraded your hotel quality level to a 5-star hotel!

....and finally two other nights, same price, same total... (June 9-11) :)
Yes, I got the JW Marriott Phuket for 41 USD/night (++) too for June this year, but this was different story, because it was an upgrade from a 4-star-bidding... and more or less an exception...
The Priceline zone is called "Marina Bay" (Marina Square is a square within Marina bay-zone ;-) )
Oops, sorry, forgot to answer the other question..
No, of course, the "strategy" splitting the nights is only that if I get the Holiday Inn and I bid only for one night, and I just waive it.. (I mean I don't make use of this priceline stay), I loose less money than for 2 nights ;-)
It's Riverside-Silom
Started with 451 HK$, (Riverside-Silom), rejected, added 51 HK$, -> accepted:

first try for this night, after my successful booking with 445 HK$ before... so maybe one could go even somewhat lower... (not below 411 HK$!)... - The PanPac is underogoing some renovation (swimming pool closed; lobby) till end of September, that's probably why it's selling via Priceline now...

Same again for second night (21st-22nd) - splitted it to minimize the risk to get the Holiday Inn -; 45$ was first bid.
Just got to know this board.... - not sure if successful bids from Priceline Hongkong/Singapore are welcome here as well?

... :) well i was just lucky sometimes.. but however, one time, I ended up with the HI for three nights... :) - Well, I also made my Priority Club number been added to my booking and it was just if I didn't.. so no special treatment and no points at all ... though I upgraded to an executive room and had some charges to my hotel bill..
