Easy answer: Yepp. (Yes)
Which hotel did you book? ( I used to live in Wiesbaden)
Thanks, I told it to my friend. Hope she will try it.
I think it will probably be the Royal Windsor Hotel which had appeared in Priceline quite some time ago already as a 5star for Brussels (very good location near Grand Place) or maybe the Amigo Hotel (also near Grand Place).
You could also check for nearby cities like Wiesbaden and Mainz which are connected via public transport to Frankfurt - but they usually profit from the trade fairs in Frankfurt as well.
... for sure an overbid.... tried for HK Airport (Lan Tau) for 4star up to 210 SG$ - always rejected... added West HK Island (and forgot I was on 4-star-level, not 5 star).. ended up with the Cosmopolitan... asiarooms.com offers this hotel for 84US$ per night for this date, so tried best-price-guarantee.

Sorry, should be Miami Beach, not South Miami Beach area (she changed to Miami Beach area after 4 star was unsuccesul for South Beach).
Finally, she ended up with the Four Points Sheraton Miami Beach with a bid of 85$ (maybe an overbid... she was rejected @80 for 4 star, then added 3 star and offered 85$...). For these dates, spg.com says 119$/night+tax, so seems to be ok.
A friend of mine is trying to get a 4star in Miami Beach South for November 8-11, she got rejected up to 130US$. Any advices? She said she could get the Holiday Inn (3*) regularly at 119+tax/night but of course would prefer a better hotel via Priceline..
Did you try Priceline's best price guarantee, if you found a cheaper price for same period in asiarooms.com?
Bad luck! The Marriott is in far better location than the Renaissance - quite far away from each other.
For which dates were you bidding? What were the official rates for the hotels you had in mind?
Just check in my previous PL bookings and the Top Hotel Alsterhof (Berlin) has been downgraded to 3star. (sorry if I posted this in the wrong place .. didn't find the "change-in-star-rating" section of this board any more... :-(
Same time apparently, Marriott Berlin has been upgraded to 4star from 3star hotel (according to my previous bid there).
The "Cape Panwa" zone has been activated now in Priceline (US&Asia), offering 2 and 3 star in PL US and 2 to 5 star (?) in Priceline Hongkong/SG. so probably a got free rebid zone. The 3 star might be the "Panwa Beach Resort" - as it appears in the "compare prices" section as 3star.
I assume, there are 2 Holiday Inn Express in the Fra Airport zone.. but not sure about 2 or 3 star rating.. but trying 3 star won't hurt.
You'll usually get the best deals for 4stars in La Defense (that's where I am currently working :) ), but its more a business region and slightly out of city center. However, it's very easy and conveniant to get there with the RER or the Metro. But if you're going for nightlife, you should better take a hotel in the city centre as Metro/RER stops service around 1am every night.
The Novotel Les Halles is in a very nice area, very central and anyway quite quiet.
Yeah, you're right.. your calculations seem to be right. The Majestic Grande is just next to JW Marriott and looks nice. Maybe worth a try. For Sukhumvit you cannot be sure to get the JW by the way, the Westin or the SGS might be possibilities too.
Did you lower your star level to 4star, or is the Pan Pacific now a 5 star hotel? I got it last time as 4star in Marina Bay... - it's a nice hotel, you might think about a room upgrade towards Harbour View Balcony Room, it's a great view and worth the surcharge, IMO.
I just checked my previous wins for the PanPac Singapore, and indeed, it's changed to a 5star now!
.. or, more probable, the Regal Chek Lap Kok Airport Hotel, probably as 4star.
The new zone "Silvermine Bay, Lantau Island (Not Zone in Map)" is useable now within Priceline SG/HK (not yeat in PL US, but already listed, but not check-able) - interestingly offering 2star to 5star hotels!! Strange, maybe only preliminary... But the map for this zone shows "Sheun Wang" map with the HK-Macau ferry pier... which should be on West HK Island... maybe a mistake... - I tried a bit for this zone only, 1 n. Jan3to4,06, got rejected (83SG$ for 5star :-)) ), wanted to add 4star hotel.. but he didn't recognize it.. saying if I don't want to change anything (what I did by lowering star level).. I would have to raise by 5SG$ blablabla..
So currently seems to be one more freebid offer zone... probably for 5star for HK... though free rebids are not really need for PL SG/HK. Maybe the SILVERMINE BEACH HOTEL HONGKONG will appear here.. but I doubt if it will reach 4 star status on PL, looks more like a 3star.
Yeah, it's a great hotel, you will like it. But you mean for sure marriott has this 100 EUR - voucher offer, right?
Banyan Tree is still a very nice hotel... usually because it's an all suites hotel, and the view from the suites is just great. But it's not very likely that you will end up with the Banyan Tree. So don't worry for Silom. (Though the Shangri La has the better location, I would in any case be happy if I got the Banyan Tree instead of the Shangri La in RS.... because the "standard suite" of the BT is in any case much better than a standard room (PL) at the Sha-La! )
Yeah, I would take sort of the tactics presented by thereuare. You could start lowballing with 60-65$ something.. and might get off with the Westin or SGS.. well, you could use Siam Square 5star almost safely as sort of "free rebid" as the 5star property(ies) there ususally don't go for anything less than 85$ bid... the Shangri La in Riverside/Silom hasn't shown up for quite some time too, and the Banyan Tree is usually also on the high scale for Priceline bids for Bkk.. so in emergency you might add Riverside-Silom too (but no guarantee for that). Good luck and keep us informed!
what are the 3* hotels in Munich?
in Priceline Hotels - Other Countries

Just roughly guessing that some of the 3 stars (or at least 1) might be Mercure Hotels.. I think there's one in the upper part of Leopoldstrasse (which should be Munich North) - but only a guess! Probably some more hotels.
