  1. Hi Chris, I live in Dubai. Feel free to contact me. Janice
  2. Oakland- East Bay Alameda 3* first bid $45 for 2 rooms (it also worked for 1 room-I went back, rolled the dice and rebid for 1 more room) Accepted. Courtyard Oakland downtown.
  3. :) This hotel has a very nice location. It is very close to the green line train station. It is a very nice hotel with comfortable rooms and very friendly and helpful staff. I booked this hotel using PRICELINE link. Since our travel plans were not concrete, I only booked 2 rooms for 2 nights at first. We enjoyed the hotel so we wanted to stay another night. I was able to get the extend your stay deal for 2 rooms for an additional night. I was surprised that I was able to do that, especially since it was for the next night. We also thought it would be convenient if we could keep one room for the following day since our flight was not until the evening. I asked the front desk how much a room would be and they said 189 Euros which is $254. Ouch! So I went back up to the room, rolled the dice and got the 4* Paris (St. Germain-Latin Quarter-Mp) Marriott Rive Gauche for $100 again. I did not try to get clever and attempt a lower room rate. I was pleased with that quality of room for $100/ night. The tax was $15.74.
  4. The date of my stay was April 2nd 2010 it was area 1
  5. I Used PRICELINE through the link on betterbidding. I needed a room for at least one night. I bid $105 and got the NH Nice Hotel. It was a good location, but the room was definitely not a 4* star quality room. There was no carpet in the room. Only faux hardwood. On a king sized bed, were were only 2 pillows. The toiletries were of very poor quality. The only furniture in the room was a small desk, a crummy chair, night tables, and the bed (of course). The TV was mounted on the wall. No artwork on the walls either. To add insult to injury, when I need a extra room for the same night, after taxes, I ended up just paying about 3 euros more than what I payed on PRICELINE, which leads me to believe that this hotel is really more of a 3*. I'm sure there is a definition of what constitutes a 4* hotel. But to be honest no matter who or what is in the lobby or restaurant, at the end of the day, I want a nice, comfortable room. I have paid a lot less for a lot more hotel in France.
  6. Started area 10 at $70 rejected added area 9 and increased bid to $75 rejected. Added area 2 for $79 Bid accepted.
  7. Very nice hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel. It's not that far from Midway for the price. I was able to catch a ride back to the airport on the hotel shuttle.
  8. [Ouch! $48 for overnight parking!] Great rooms! great location downtown
  9. I would suggest trying Burr Ridge -Hinsdale- on PRICELINE. I too was looking for a room near Midway. I had no "cheap" luck. The area I am refering to is area 15 if you enter Burr Ridge. I booked a series of rooms with prices varing from $45 $50 and $54. All at the Marriott, a 3.5 star. I got better as I was bidding. This area was hard for me to locate on my own. It will not show up on a "chicago" search. I was lucky to come across a name of a town that showed up on priceline. (laGrange didn't cut it.) You will see on the map that it is really probably more conveniently located than a hotel at Midway. It is off the 55 freeway. Good luck
  10. My previous experiences with getting additional rooms at the same hotel for the same night(s) on priceline is similar to fishing. It seems if you fish in the same fishing hole using the same bait, if a certain hotel is biting, then most likely you have a very good chance at landing the same hotel. I am completely aware that it is like rolling the dice one you hit "buy my hotel room" and for the savings, its the risk I assume. Luckily it has worked out very well so far... I know one day I will gamble and end up down the street. That happened to me with a bid in Denver (Stapleton) in March 09. It turned out to be a good thing because the team was booked at the Doubletree, and I thought based on previous posted wins that I would also get the Doubletree. It turned out that I got the Renasance. I liked it because I was close to the Doubletree, but was able to be with the team when I wanted, but was not disturbed by them in my room. There is always a silver lining if you look for one.
  11. This is more like a motel. Enter rooms from outside. We got one of the "left-over"??, older rooms.(There was a little bit of a creepy factor at first, we got over it and had a very nice stay) Room was clean, beds were comfortable, parking lot was hard to maneuver in our truck. Hotel impression is very overstated on website. I would book this hotel again. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $90.00 Subtotal: $180.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $30.79 Total Charges*: $210.79
  12. This hotel is a renovated Embassy Suites. The room was disproportionately large. It was a comfortable stay.
  13. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $50.00 Subtotal: $50.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $13.20 Total Charges*: $63.20
  14. Price Per Room, Per Night: $53.00 Subtotal: $159.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $32.94 Total Charges*: $191.94 Plus parking. $16/night My friend bid this hotel for the same weekend. She got it for $64. I think she bid $50 and they said if you add $14 to your bid she would get a room. I bid after she did and bid $53 and got it accepted.
