  3. After getting bumped from the Wynn a month after reserving (and paying for) a 4 night stay through Valentine's weekend, I read with great satisfaction the news stories of the day: Tuesday A.M.: Wells Fargo Plans Events in Las Vegas After Getting TARP Funds Bloomberg Tuesday Noon: Wells Fargo defends, then reconsiders Vegas junket The Associated Press Tuesday P.M: Wynn Resorts cutting salaries, bonuses to save jobs If I heard the news correctly, Wells Fargo, who recently accepted $25 billion in OUR taxpayer bailout money, booked 12 nights (through the Valentine's weekend) for a Las Vegas junket for about 1,000 employees. I wonder if this is the reason so many are getting bumped from the Wynn. If so it serves them right! If Wells Fargo cancellation is confirmed they should end up with quite a few empty rooms. I'll never stay there - I'll take my business where it's appreciated!

  7. When I booked a month ago with Hotwire/Wynn for the Valentine's weekend, I immediately received both a Hotwire itinerary # and a Wynn Las Vegas Confirmation Code #, and was still "walked" to the Trump. This didn't seem to matter with anyone. Are you staying Valentine's weekend? If not you should be OK. Might be a good idea to call the Wynn otherwise.
  8. I replied earlier to this forum and just thought I would give everyone an update. Obviously (based upon the many views of this thread) this problem is widespread, but limited to the Wynn bookings made over the Valentine's weekends. Obviously someone screwed up, and neither Hotwire or The Wynn wants to take responsibility. Staying at the Trump was not an option for me, and Hotwire did refund my money for the trip, although they also deleted the $100 HotDollars. Although the occasional "bump" or "walk" may be normal in this industry, a problem of this magnitude is not normal and very uncommon. After confirmation of my refund I decided that Hotwire was still my best alternative to rebook the hotel portion of my trip. (In spite of the fact I told them I would never do business with them again) I ended up paying about $50 more per day due to the proximity of the departure date. Ended up with Palazzo (nice!) @ $159/nt., $698 for 4 night stay.
  9. I too got bumped from the Wynn for a 4 night stay Feb. 12-16, 2009. See details below. Relocated to the Trump - Don't want to stay there... No casino, no smoking. Most people go to Vegas to Gamble. I made this reservation a month ago and do not understand why I am just now being notified. Now my options seem limited to accepting their "relocation" & $100 hotwire crapbucks or rebooking at another hotel for twice as much money. Two calls to Hotwire "Customer No-Service" resulted in an offer for a refund. I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank You! Hotel - 1 room, 4 nights Wynn Las Vegas 3131 Las Vegas Blvd. South Las Vegas, Nevada 89109 (702) 770-7000 Check-in date Thu, Feb 12, 2009 Check-out date Mon, Feb 16, 2009 Primary guest Hotel rate per night: $125.00 Nights: 4 Rooms: 1 Subtotal: $500.00 Tax recovery charges & fees: $51.20 Total price: $551.20
