  1. Dates: 4/28/11 - 5/1/11 Bid 3.5* Fisherman Wharf at $66, $75, $78 and $80 and was rejected at all of these amounts. At the $78 and $80 bids I was offered a hotel if I rebid $20 higher, but I did not take that offer up. Bid 3.5* for Fisherman's Wharf (and added Civic Center zone to rebid within 24 hours beause there are no hotels in that star level there) and got the Hyatt Fishermans Wharf for $80/night! Total cost (with tax) for three nights is $304.77. This is nearly a $200 savings from the Hyatt website! Used the PRICELINE link from this site. Thank you for all your help, we are very excited about our trip! This is the hotel we were hoping for based on the trip advisor reviews.
  2. Keoni, I've received a few 4*'s through priceline that had resort fees. $20 is not bad at naples bay, because I believe this includes parking as well. you really got a killer deal on your 3 night stay, even with the extra $20 a night.
  3. Using your PRICELINE link I got the Naples Bay Resort (which I was hoping to get) at $106 ($126 with taxes and fees). This was about a 40% discount from the base room on the hotel's website. This is good considering it's season and a Saturday night stay. I started bidding at $75 and kept on increasing adding other zones such as i-75 that I knew didn't have 4* hotels so I could rebid within 24 hours. Last bid before winning bid was $100, which was not accepted. When I was at $95 I was actually offered a rebid at $125, but did not take up that offer, and ultimately got it cheaper.
  4. I answered my own question. I noticed another user added the Denver Airport zone to their Downtown 4* bid to rebid within 24 hrs because there are no 4*s near the airport. I increased the bid up to $70. I got the Hotel Monaco Downtown Denver! This came out to $248 total including tax for all three nights. This is a steal, considering the lowest price room on the hotel's website is $299 for one night not including tax (which is over a grand total for three nights). This looks like a very nice property, and I haven't seen it before on this board.
  5. I noticed that the retail prices of Downtown Denver hotels are much higher during the week than during the weekends. I imagine this is because of business travelers, conventions, etc. I will be in Denver Wednesday, August 8 - Saturday, August 11. I've have been unsuccessfully bidding the past week for a 4* and 3 1/2* downtown. I saw on the forum most users get 4*'s downtown for $55 and 3/12* for $45, so this is where I started. I bid up to 65 a night for the 4* and up to 60 a night for a 3 1/12*. At one point at the 4* star I got rejected at 60, but it said if I increased my bid by $15 I would get a hotel. I didn't take that offer yet, because was trying to get a lower price and hoping as the time gets nearer, hotels will be more desperate to fill up rooms. Any suggestions for a winning bid price given my weekday nights?
  6. Since I booked the reservation on PRICELINE, I've watched the rates drop each week. They're now $249 (and I could have got it for close to $230 with a AAA discount). Of course this is frustrating! I've never had much luck bidding in Key West...tough zone! The good news is I called the front desk of the hotel and spoke to a friendly gentleman named Wayne to explain the situation. He upgraded me to an ocean view room! This justifies the price difference. Note that I tried asking for an upgrade before when I spoke to the general waldorf astoria line with no luck. Make sure to call the front desk of the actual resort.
  7. I wound up rebidding on PRICELINE for $275 and got the Waldorf Astoria Casa Marina Resort. Lowest price on the website is $329, decent deal. But I did find out that they charge resort fees of $22 a day plus $12 for self parking!
  8. Just to update my status on this trip...last week, using your PRICELINE link i increased by bid up to $235, and was notified that if i increased up to $250 i would get a 4*. I didn't at this time because I wanted to wait and see if prices would go down. I also watched Hotwire, the hotel you identified as the Hyatt Key West Resort, and the prices fluctuated from $258-$267. This morning I looked on HOTWIRE and the hyatt is no longer the 4 star option, it's the Reach Resort, which is a 3 star on PRICELINE and nowhere near as nice as the hyatt. I then tried bidding on priceline for $250, and was told I could rebid for $275. I haven't done that yet. Just realizing that in prime season, it was not a good idea to wait for prices to go down. Should have booked when you first identified the Hyatt thru HOTWIRE!! I will keep you updated on my travel plans when booked. Thanks for your help.
  9. I noticed PRICELINE recently added the Casa Marina Resort to its Resort category. Any ideas of how much you can get this for in season (looking to travel the weekend of 2/27-3/1 in particular) or another Key West resort? I started my bid at $150 and was rejected. In the same 24 hr period I increased the bid up to $210 and was still rejected. I thought you couldn't bid for same dates and star in a 24 hour period, but I was never prohibited from doing so in my account. Not sure if this makes a difference as to why I was rejected.
