  1. When I arrived at the hotel to check-in, I found out that the first room was only a king size bed. I told the lady at the front desk that with 4 people in the room, I really needed to have 2 beds and that I thought that by putting 8 people on the reservation with HOTWIRE, that I would get 2 beds in each room. She said that I was only guaranteed what they had available. I told her that I thought only Priceline didn't guarantee the number of beds. She said Priceline and Hotwire were the same company. She said that 1 king bed was suitable for 4 people. I asked if there were any upgrades available. She said they are not allowed to upgrade Hotwire rooms. Luckily the second room had a double. I gave that to my in-laws, and my family squished into a king sized bed for 4 nights. I didn't argue with the lady because I really wasn't sure if I should have gotten 2 beds or not.

  3. Number of Rooms:2 Number of Nights:1 Room Subtotal:$120.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees:$26.74 (USD) Total Room Cost:$146.74 (USD) Although it is a good deal, I am still not very happy with this transaction. I know Priceline thinks I did, and I am sure many of you here are sure I did, but I was charged $10 for insurance that I know I did not select. I remember making sure the little box was not checked. I don't know how I could have done it! It's not refundable. I have no need for it. I knew not to check it. But I got it. Customer service would do nothing and sent me to "Investor Relations" to file a complaint. So I did, and in my online form I sent them, I explained what happened, only to send it in with no details of booking, so I know I will never get a response. :-( I should resend it but I feel so deflated right now. What bothers me most is that there was a Hotwire hotel, same area, for $68. which I know seems higher, but I just found out that Hilton charges $10/day for parking! I knew hotels in San Antonio charged for parking, but I thought they were all by the Riverwalk. So total for each room is now $70. Hotwire is so much better to me. Its just that they only had (1) 3* hotel, at around $65. So I figured I would try Priceline, and I guess I caught caut up in the bidding, i don't know. I made a poor decision. I am just venting, thanks for reading.
  4. May 24th-25th $69 2 adults, 2 children Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Complimentary Breakfast Pool Pool Business Center This place had great value! We had free popcorn and sodas all day. 3 free alcholic drinks per adult and all you can eat nachos, chips and dips in the evening for a couple of hours, and free hot breakfast in the morning. My only complaint was the pool was actually at a hotel next door, but it wasn't a huge hassle.
  5. We did end up reserving it and it was 2 double beds. I was just concerned because we are actually 2 adults, and 3 children, 15, 6, and 2, and I really need to make sure we had 2 beds. FYI (I'll also post in the appropriate forum) Hotwire - 3-star hotel in San Antonio Northeast - Selma Drury Inn & Suites Northeast May 24th-25th $69 Smoke Free Rooms Complimentary Breakfast Pool Pool Business Center The rooms were a little small, so maybe that is why they felt 4 adults would not want the room, but they did not save money with me and my kids there. 6. Done and done. I'll also post something in the Texas Hotwire forum too for this after I reserve.
  7. We ended up stayeing at the MGM Signature for about $99/night using a luxury suites international. It was a good deal at the time, but I do not recommend them. Not very helpful and the room stunk, literally. I'm staying with HOTWIRE and PRICELINE from now on. I haven't had a bad experience yet.

Also, if you were curious, I was looking at staying in San Antonio May 24th - 25th, 3*. If you do 2 adults, 2 children, you get an option for a hotel in NorthEast San Antonio - Selma, which I think might be the Drury Inn. If you put 4 adults, the option is not there. I have to run up there for work on Sunday (from Houston), and since it is a holiday I was thinking of getting a hotel and taking the family. I was looking for anywhere between the airport and East San Antonio with a complimentary breakfast. If it is the Drury Inn, reviews say they have a nice hot breakfast. I was just wondering what the hotel might consider giving me as far as beds, considering it doesn't even show up if I put 4 adults.
  9. I noticed on Hotwire that I get different hotel results depending on what I put. I usually just put 4 adults, so that I know I get 2 beds for my family, but I was curious what I might expect to get when I put 2 adults and 2 children instead? I'm guessing I get different hotels because of the number of beds that will be in the room, but would I not get 2 beds with 2 adults and 2 children? Ram
  10. La Quinta Inn and Suites 5170 Motel Court, Mobile,AL,36619 2 rooms, 8 adults Amenities: Complimentary Breakfast Pool Laundry Facilities I unfortunately waited till the last minute to try and book my stay and ran out of options with Priceline and Hotwire. $73 for this 3* was the best I could get at 1 in the morning the night before. When I booked, the best price I could find was $79 for the room, so I saved $6. After I checked in, I saw the hotel listed the rooms at $69/night on their website. I asked Hotwire for the double the difference guarantee. They denied my claim because they could not verify the price, but offered me $16 in Hotwire hot Dollars, which was fine. When I checked out, La Quinta printed out a bill that said I was charged $53/room to my Visa. This must be what they charged Hotwire. FYI - The hotel seems to be recently renovated and is 10X better than the La Quinta in Pensacola I stayed in the year before.
  11. I bid $50 for a 3*- Tallahasse(North) and was denied. I added East, and was denied. Added South and was accepted by Courtyard by Marriott. I didn't think to lower my price when I added South so not sure if I could have gotten lower. I got 2 rooms. Marriott lists the cheapest room at $99/night on their website.
  12. It says Studio and 1 Bedrooms Suite. I just want something big like a suite with w fold out couch bed cause a friend will be staying with me but still with a little privacy. Something on the Central strip. My next option for a suite is a 4.5 at $144/night east of Strip. decisions, decisions.
  13. I initially put Suite, but it should be Studio. What is the difference?
  14. I'm trying to identify the following hotel for my stay January 16-19. $109/night Condo, Studio, 1-bedroom, smoke free rooms, Daily housekeeping, air conditioning, fitness Center, pool. I posted something similar a few days ago that may have been the Trump Hotel but this one seems different. Any help would be appreciated.
  15. Hello, I am trying to identify a 5* on the Central Strip. $79/night Smoke free rooms, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, high speed interent, golf nearby, kitchenette 2/16-2/19 Thanks in advance, Ram
  16. Does anyone here just reserve rooms with 2 people, knowing they will have 4 in the room but hoping for better rates? It's been my experience that you can request 2 beds at checkin.
