  1. Please explain what you mean by "Got upgraded to the Royal Hawaiian next door"? Is this something you paid for? How much? Thanks
  2. It appears as though the lowest bid of $110 gets you the Sheraton Waikiki at the moment. At least at the 4* level.
  3. I am pleased with this purchase. I started at $90 and raised the bid $5 at a time. Thank you BB.
  4. Thank you for the response. It looks like there is still a debate as to whether booking early, or later, is better.
  5. My maximum bid thus far is $96. I will raise it from there. What I would like to know is do the lowest rates accepted (currently around $105-$115) change from day to day, week to week, or month to month? I'm wondering if I should keep trying above $96 now or wait a while (if so, then how long) before trying lower bids again? Thanks
  6. I just bid through HOTWIRE and got a mid-sized car at Honolulu Airport for a week in March 2011 for $17.95/day. The total for the week is $189. Thank you BB.
  7. My question relates to how I should bid from day to day. If I exhaust my bids for a specific date with my final unacccepted bid at $96, should I continue from that price the next day assuming the price they will accept is static?
  8. This morning (Tues, Sept 14, 2010) on Hotwire I could get a compact car for Honolulu on March 15-22 2011 for $15.95/day and this afternoon it is $19.95/day. Do these rates fluctuate often and is there a time of day/week (other) that they are lowest?
  9. Thank you for the reply AaronJB. If a property's resort fee includes "self parking", does that mean there is no extra parking charge (it is included in the resort fee)? I am in need of a Hotel from March 15 - 22, 2011 (2 people travelling). I am looking for a four star in the Waikiki Beach zone (lowest price). I see that last March (2010) the Hilton could be had for about $87-$94. It seems as though the winning bids have gone up to $100 +. My last bid was $96 which failed. I know about using multiple bids (ran out after 5). Any tips/advice are welcome. Thanks
  10. Looking for a hotel in Honolulu through Hotwire March 2011. There is a 4* which has a comment: "This hotel typically charges all guests a resort fee regardless of how the room is booked. The hotel collects this fee of about $25 per room per night directly from you, so it won't show in your Hotwire
