  1. I first bid $41 for a 4* in Boston-Logan/Revere-- rejected with no counter. I then added in a free bid zone (South Boston) and upped bid to $46. Accepted. With taxes and fees, the total comes to $59.23. This the third time I have bid Boston-Logan/Revere in the 4* category. Each time I have gotten either the Hyatt Harborside or the Logan Hilton--both perfectly acceptable hotels-- at prices in the $40-46 range which I regard as an excellent rate. Based on my experience and a review of other bidding in this zone, I would venture an educated guess that there are no other 4*'s in Priceline's inventory in the Boston Logan/Revere zone. Happy bidding!
  2. Just to close out this posting-- we never did do any bidding for a hotel for this trip because the trip was cancelled. Thanks to all who offered helpful suggestions\ron
  3. Hi: My wife and I will be in London May 31--June 4. We have been there countless times before--usually on business. This time it's pleasure. We are hoping to land a 5* which is well-located and convenient to theaters, tube, restaurants for $175/nite. Not too picky about specific area. Would love to have suggestions as to which bidding areas to target and which hotels we should try to end up with. Is $175/nite going to be enough? If not, what would we. Same questions for 4* if we fall back to bid on 4* hotels. Many thanks for any suggestions.\Ron
  4. Thanks thereuare and Maverick for your response. To be clear: dates of trip are 3/7-3/14. Kitchenette is sought (as a nice idea only) so we could prepare breakfast (coffee, fruit etc.), snacks at home. Therefore, refrigerator, plates, silverware and coffee maker are the main necessary ingredients. Two separate sleeping areas (not necessarily rooms) are sought to assure each of us a little more privacy. May not work out for NYC. BTW, i agree with you that the financial district or even Murray Hill would probably not work for us. Many thanks for your help to date.
  5. :) We (a married couple and my mother) will be travelling to Manhattan shortly for a week stay. We are looking for a well-located room/suite/apartment that would have two sleeping areas suitable to accomodate the 3 of us and a kitchen/kitchenette. Preferred areas are MTE, MTW/UM-CPS. Do you have any advice for us as to how to secure the above for no more than $200/nite? Many thanks.
  6. :) Bid $47 for January 22 and this was accepted on the first bid for the Hyatt Harborside at Logan Airport
