  1. I wanted this hotel and since it's currently the only 4* in this area, it was super easy to get. I saw it on PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals for $88/night and went to name your price and just kept adding rebid zones until I scored this. With taxes, it comes to $97/night.
  2. Amenities included: pet friendly, free parking, business center, Internet, free breakfast, swimming pool, bedding, gym/spa. It came to around $88 with taxes.
  3. Thank you both for taking the time to respond thoroughly to my question. I ended up choosing Kansas City instead of St. Louis. I'll post that win in a minute. Thank you again.
  4. I'm looking up 8/13-8/14 and see a 3* Forest Park hotel with these amenities: business center, fitness center, free internet, free breakfast, pet friendly with 80% hotwire reviews. I can't match it to any on the hotwire wins list. Can you help me figure out which hotel it is? I'm trying to avoid a hefty pet fee in St. Louis. Thanks!
  5. This was a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal win. I got exasperated trying to bid for this weekend night so went with the easy out. Not an excellent deal, but wanted to report it anyway. Total of $144 with taxes.
  6. I tried to win for Brentwood area, going up to a $70 bid/night and when that didn't work, I closed out the browser and started over with the intent to use the multiple rebid zones to win in Cool Springs, which is really close. I started with $60 and won immediately, so you might be able to get it for less if you need similar dates and are interested in this hotel. I bid only on 3* and won a 3.5*. A good deal. Thanks betterbidding!
  7. My first bid was for $50, with the total coming to $64.95. Since there are three rebid zones, I definitely could have started lower and perhaps won lower. Still pretty cheap.
  8. I've been bidding for a few weeks, starting around $55 and moving up a few dollars each time. Seattle has so many rebid zones that you can really play around with new bids. With taxes, the two night total comes to $181.62, so averaging about $90/night, which isn't too bad. Thanks betterbidding!
  9. We're only staying one night before driving to Fairbanks, so this hotel close to the airport works just fine, although I was hoping to win at a slightly higher level for a 3.5*. No biggie! At $63 total for the night, it seems like a good deal.
  10. Hard to win in this area because there are so few hotels and zones. I won at $45 on the first bid for Johnson City.
  11. I started at $55 and worked up, using the rebid zones. Another poster mentioned that their bid was accepted immediately at $60 so I was hoping I could sneak in for a few dollars cheaper. No big deal, $60 is still a good rate.
  12. First bid was $50 for Blue Ash and it was accepted. Perhaps I could have won a few dollars cheaper, but this is a fine deal.
  13. Yesterday I booked the Friday and Saturday night for $55/night. I chose to split the bids because Sunday-Thursday nights in this area are more expensive than weekend nights, so I would have had to use a much higher bid to win all three nights in a row. When you win on priceline, they often offer you a chance to extend your hotel stay at the same hotel, but when I tried that yesterday, $55 wasn't going to win for this Thursday night. They did come back with a $70/night bid, but I knew I could do better. So, I just waited 24 hours and created today's bid. I started at $60, was offered an increase to $72 to get a hotel deal, but I simply closed out of that and added another rebid zone (all of them in chicago north shore work if you want a 4* hotel). Won for $62. I didn't try $61, so there's a chance you could get the same night for $1 cheaper. Total with tax was $77. Thanks BB!
  14. I started at $45 and the bidding system offered me a chance to increase by $17 and win a hotel at that rate. I chose to skip that screen and added some rebid zones (there are 5 for *4s in Vegas: Boulder, Henderson, NW Las Vegas, Nellis, and Summerlin). I increased by a few dollars each time and on my last rebid zone, I scored at $55 for Treasure Island.
  15. I won 4 rooms at the Sheraton Music City Hotel for same night as I booked, December 16-17. Started at $42 and was offered $50, but I opted to "change other options" and added a rebid zone, won for $44.
  16. I have been bidding for a few days, starting at $50 and going up to $70 without luck. On my first bid for $50, won the Crowne Plaza Resort. If you're looking for the same days/hotel level, you might be able to bid a few dollars lower and win.
  17. I started at $40, was offered an increased bid, but I started over and just added Antioch for a rebid zone, increased to $42 and won the Hyatt Place. Thanks BB!
  18. I started it directly at $50 after seeing another user won it at that price and because there are no rebid zones. Won quickly, so if you have extra time, you might try a few dollars lower. Hope it's okay; there are some pretty shady reviews on the place :). Thanks BB.
  19. Started at $85 and they tried to get me to raise my bid to 113. Closed out and added a few extra zones. This was a confusing bidding situation because I wasn't sure which hotels counted as 4* as well as Resort, because when you bid for 4*, it checks off the resort level as well. I tried to search BB for guidance on this, but didn't find anything. I won this when bidding under the resort level, but it might have worked for 4* as well. Decent deal, at least better than advertised. Thanks!
  20. I started at $65 and worked my way up by $1 increments (I was offered an $83 winning bid, but instead continued adding zones) and won it at $72. There are lots of rebid zones in Denver when you're trying to win a 4*, so that's helpful. I also read somewhere that hotel prices are cheaper on the weekends because a good portion of their tourists are in town for business, so weekdays are actually more expensive than weekends. That might be why I wasn't able to extend the $72 winning bid for the next night, a Sunday night. Thanks BB!
  21. Cookofthehouse, I've been watching and bidding for the same dates, and today I finally figured out what might be disturbing the availability of rooms during that time period... There's a huge gaming conference called PAX that will have 60,000-70,000 people in town from August 25-27. UGH for us! So, I have a feeling hotels aren't going to be releasing too many rooms to priceline or hotwire for that time period. Maybe last minute, or not near the city center. Sorry!
  22. I started bidding at 3* for LGA at $65. They offered a deal of $77, but I closed out and started again, adding 1 and then another of the rebid zones, moving from $65 to $68 and finally to $70, where the winning bid ended up. Total with taxes was around $93. High hotel taxes in NY state maybe. Thanks BB!
  23. I just won 2 rooms at the Brentwood, TN Hyatt Place for $41/night, $105 total. Started bidding at $41 because I saw someone else tried at $40 today and was denied, but there are several rebid zones, so it might have been possible to get it a few dollars cheaper. Great deal... thanks!
  24. Bid starting at $40 and increasing by $2 increments, and adding all the available zones (didn't really care where I stayed). Was originally offered to increase the bid to $52, but I closed out of that screen and tried bidding again. Got the Holiday Inn Roanoke Tanglewood for $48 for 7/28-7/29.
