  1. Parking costs $15/night, internet extra $10/day. Manager's reception had chips and free drinks (no food).
  2. Embassy Suites Hotel Irvine-Orange County Airport 3-star Check-In Date: Friday, April 6, 2007 Check-Out Date: Sunday, April 8, 2007 Costa Mesa - Irvine 2120 Main Street Irvine, California 92614 949-553-8332 Started at $45 Disneyland, rejected Increased to $47 added CostaMesa/Irvine, accepted I was hoping for Hilton Suites or Hyatt Regency based on previous reviews, but this should be nice too. How come no one else is posting their strategies anymore, just their winning bid?
  3. How was your stay at Hilton Suites? Sounds nicer than the Hyatt Regency you were expecting...
  4. 6/8-6/9 Accepted offer $39 at Hyatt Regency 6/9-6/10 Rejected offer $37, $39, $41, $43, $45 What the heck is going on? I'll try again tomorrow, ask my brother to bid... Question: Do you pay more fees/taxes by splitting up into individual days?
  5. Ridiculous... 2.5* South San Francisco 6/7-6/10 Rejected at $33, $35, $37, $39, $41, $43, $45 with rebids and 72 hour wait Rebid using USE, USW, Fisherman's Wharf Split Attempt 2.5* South San Francisco 6/7-6/9 Rejected at $43, $45, $47, $49 I then give up on 2.5* SSF 3* SFO 6/7-6/8 Rejected $35 (counter offer $9 more), $37 Accepted offer $39 at Hyatt Regency 6/8-6/10 Rejected $37, $38, $39, $41, $43 -> What the heck is going on? I'm going to try again by splitting the dates
  6. What's the re-bidding strategy for South San Francisco 2.5*? Can I add Union Square West, East, and Fisherman's Wharf as re-bids without fear of winning in those areas (aren't they more expensive than SSF)?
  7. Any idea how to win Larkspur Landing instead of Hilton Garden Inn or any other 2.5* in South San Francisco? I am planning for a Tues arrival and Fri departure in June. I'd love the amenities at Larkspur for the price, but I don't want HGI.
  8. You must be kidding, $100 at the venetian for a weekend? Good luck trying to get $100 for a weekday!
  9. you could always wait... I was having problems bidding on Monterey CA, going above the previous wins, for a date 2-3 weeks in advance. Then I retried it 7 days before my stay and I won at the same price as previous wins ($62).
  10. hmmm... I can't edit my original message? Just tried again. Monterey 3* Pacific Grove for $60. Rejected, counter offer of $17 more. Rebid adding Monterey 3* Seaside for $62. Accepted by Hyatt Regency Monterey, Pacific Grove. Kinda disappointed it isn't located closer to the water, and that I couldn't get better than $62...
  11. I have been trying to win 1 night on 10/23 in Monterey, CA. Previous wins were at $60, I've been trying for the past week and haven't won anything up through $62 for a 3*. Wish me luck, any suggestions?
  12. Does the room price from Priceline qualify as "eligible dollars" for HHonors and Starwood rewards?
  13. I just moved from SF to LA but expect to visit SF frequently. Thanks for the tips, I'll be sure to use them next time!
  14. Initial bid of $34 rejected Added Embarcadero, rebid $37 accepted. Total including taxes ~$97 Extra parking charge of $13+$3 tax per night When I showed up, I got a Queen sized bed on the Starwood Preferred (but SMOKING) Floor. When I complained, they said they were full for the first night (yeah right, on a Thurs night) and moved me to a non-smoking double full room for the second night (Friday). BTW, what's wrong with the Doubletree? I have seen a few posts about being Doubletree'd.
