  2. Hi, just wondering if anyone knows how to get a good deal on a beach front room? or panaromic view of sea? should i be using priceline/hotwire? i see that u can get "suite" from hotwire....anyone know if that guarantees a beach front room?
  3. 3* FW - Sheraton at Fisherman's Wharf 11/15-11/18 $85...tried bidding from 65 and 75... For those who need is, tried bidding 4* at FW up to $110 no luck The rooms looks like it's already renovated, worried about the mixed reviews (going to ask for a spot away from the bus station), but it's still a good deal...normal rates 30% off at $148 Good spot unquestionably!
  4. just did that...and they replied the same as you...thank you..that really opens up some options since i can bid on 3* ratings now...will let the board know more if i succeeded/failed in any bids :)
  5. Hotel 91 does have a private bath...anyway...are u sure about the all 3* n 4* that we bid in priceline will DEFINITELY have a private bath? i dont want to bid, n throw it away if i end up with something that use a shared bath....thanx
  6. oops...the dates are 11/15-11/18 anyway...i didn't do that coz i haven't researched all the 3* possible in priceline fw...whereas by booking conventially the difference isn't that much anymore....however ANY 4* will work with the right price in PRICELINE...right now, it's not looking too good becoz of all the discount sf hotels are giving conventionally anyway...
  7. hey....tried bidding for the three sections (seperately using free rebids) from $60 up to $95....all failed....wondering if i should continue...i did see that parc 55 got a discounted rate to $135....parking is crazy in sf!!! cost like $35-50....kabuki hotel at japantown have a winter discount of buy 2 get 1 night free (nett around $115/nite)....radisson hotel at fw is also having discounts....n there's the wharf inn which cost $150 for king and FREE parking...i'll be having a car from day 1 coz i want to go to napa, sausalitto, n basically just drive around...any advice from locals which one i should take? planning to take 1 full day around union square n fw....1 more day visitting places like sausalitto n basically driving around town (any trips within 30 mins around the city?)....day 3 will be going to napa....that's the plan anyway
  8. hey sorry i was busy bidding for other cities...got the LV n LA settled....looking at SF right now...will post soon about my bid in that city hotel 91 i got it for $189 before taxes....but it's in chinatown...being a chinese from asia, i dont really feel like staying in chinatown...i've been to ny...but my fiancee haven't....i was hoping something more central to mte/mtw/central park....anywhere safe and have an "american/new york" feel is good....:) i do realise that the subways do take us anywhere we want to go...so as long it's somewhere in manhattan and safe, it'll be fine...i dont mind a 4* near new jersey if it has subway access (not sure about this, never took a subway to new jersey or brooklyn) i'm worried about the shared bathroom coz we'r pretty picky on that...any advice how to avoid hotels with shared bathroom policy? maybe only bid for 4*? does 3* guarantee a private bathroom in some areas? <--- the real question that needs to be cleared for nyc bidders :) any help will be appreciated
  9. Yup...i already got it....THEhotel for $163....i did bid the north section of the strip till $163 as well...but didn't get any...thanx for asking...:) i haven't started bidding on my new york trip...since i'm really afraid about the shared bathroom on most of the hotel even up to 3*....4* is really really expensive n if i did save up from other trips, then maybe i'll start bidding on that
  10. Hi guys, just want to share my recent win with the board Marriot Downtown...started with $60...priceline offered to give me free rebid if i bid higher than $17....i refused...i add Lawndale (free rebid zone) $65 and got accepted by Marriot I'm so afraid of all the recent bad reviews on lots of hotels in L.A. especially the 4* like Westin Bonaventure in trip advisor so i didn't bid a 4* in downtown LA I did bid 4* in Beverly Hills and Hollywood from $70-105 n got refused and i did bid 3* in Beverly Hills and Hollwood from $60-75 n got refused too Hope the info helps. Btw, i didn't really get good feedback on some of my question from the board in NY and Vegas...maybe it's because i'm new...but no hard feelings...i did get a lot of info even without everyone jumping to help in a specific topic created by me....great site...keep up the good job! oh i did use the link like 6-7 times just today rebidding in LA till i got it... anyone stayed in marriot? i'm going there for my honeymoon...thinking of taking the driving trip across hollywood, beverly hills, rodeo drive and sunset boulevard till santa monica bay...any specific really good stuff i shouldn't miss? how's driving from hotel to these locations? any traffic problems?
  11. Hey thanx...will definitely bid once i've researched what's the possible 3/4* hotel in la...thank you for the reply...i might have to find a backup plan with my current budget too in the mean time while i'm bidding...thanx again
  12. hey thanx for the reply...i just found out it's marathon week...and yeah i guess things are pretty busy...i have other cities hotel to bid for, and will definitely use those links when i do bid for the others...i'm not that hopeful anymore to get a good hotel in new york, but i will keep trying...will post something if something interesting came up :)
  13. Hi guys, need advice in bidding for the following dates: 11/9 - 11/13....my budget is around $150/night....currently i'm thinking of booking Luxor ($99)/Treasure Island ($159) as backup....since i've seen ppl winning 5* hotel for a price of $120-150, i'm thinking of bidding for a better hotel for the same price as my backup....any advice when to start bidding? i dont mind any of the 5* hotel incl, THEhotel, Trump, Venetian(hopefully i get this one), or any others... anyone know if november a peak season? is my budget price reasonable for that period? if it's not i'm thinking of bidding for a 4* hotel for a price around 60-80....is all the hotel in north/south strip good? any surprises in that star range that i can suddenly get a hotel a few blocks away from the action? Thanx guys -edit- Ooops i forgot, i already bid for $100 dolar in that time frame yesterday and got a return bid of $180 dolar which i did not take. so based on the averaging rule, can i expect to get a 5* around $140?
  14. Hi guys, im still a beginner in priceline...but can't help to notice the great deals everyone seem to get in their bidding...:) i'm planning to stay in NY for 3 nights, 11/6 - 11/9....is this too early to start bidding? my budget is around $175/night, what kind of * hotel can i get with that price...currently i'm booked in hotel 91, so unless i can get a better with upgrade location n *-wise, i still have this hotel as a backup... does anyone know if november month a peak time in new york? prices for hotel are extraordinarily high...can't seem to get a decent hotel for an average price anywhere...Thanx guys
  15. Hi, i'm still a beginner at PRICELINE...found this great website through searching...tried bidding for other cities n have yet to won anything...anyway...i'm planning to go to L.A. for 11/13 - 11/16....was wondering if it's too early to bid...my budget is around $100 max...can i get a 4* with that kind of budget? when should i try bidding...afraid that it might be too early to bid now... from other posters, it seems they get unbelievable deals from PL, but mostly are in the months of august...does anyone know if november a peak season for hotels in la? i'm trying to bid also for newyork, vegas, sf and honolulu but i'll post help request in the other categories... any advice for first time goer to la? i'm planning to rent a car, and will be visiting the areas around hollywood, if there's any advice to give for a couple of honeymooners on where to go in la, it'll be very appreciated :)
