  1. FYI: Bethesda and Silver Spring aren't a combined area on Hotwire anymore. Thanks again!
  2. Used the HOTWIRE links. It was indeed the Doubletree. Booked for two nights through HOTWIRE for essentially the price of one night direct through PRICELINE. (Canceled the refundable back-up Priceline reservation.) Thanks!
  3. Reopening... I keep checking prices, since that direct-booked room through Priceline can be canceled. Do you think this listing on Hotwire is the Doubletree? Thanks! 4/29 check-in, 5/1 check-out Silver Spring 2 adults 3.5 stars $73 $194 other sites 85% recommendation Free Internet Indoor pool(s) Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service)
  4. Decided to bid on Priceline (dates still 4/27 check-in, 4/29 check-out). West Orange was our first choice. I'd already failed yesterday going up to $120 for the 3.5-star Wilshire Grand. I took it down to 3 stars today, starting at 60 in West Orange. Added a re-bid zone of West Jersey City for $65. Added Meadowlands-Rutherford at $70, which was accepted by the 3.5-star Sheraton. Total with taxes for two days: $170.10.
  5. I've seen that one, too. Thanks for that! The hotel that has disappeared/reappeared definitely had the 100% rating, and only those amenities.
  6. No, those were all the amenities. (The hotel has appeared and disappeared from my search a couple of times... it's currently gone right now for me.)
  7. On Hotwire, is this Hyatt Place? Thanks! 4/27 check in, 4/29 check out 3 adults $119 ($172 on other sites) 100% rating Free Parking Pet friendly Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Business Center High-Speed Internet Access
  8. The 4-star went up to $87 (plus parking and Internet if it was the Westin), so we used the PRICELINE link to book directly at the Hilton Garden Inn-Waltham for $87+ (parking and Internet free).
  9. It was Bond Place. Using the PRICELINE EXPRESS link and the 5% off code in your signature, it was a total of $153.62 for two nights.
  10. We decided that a very specific location was most important for this stay, and that a hotel would be worthless for the first night since we'd be getting in at daybreak. So we booked for 4/30 directly through Priceline (with your link) at the Doubletree in downtown Silver Spring for $143.20+
  11. Would this $67 property on Priceline Express be the Bond Place? (dates are still 4/24 check-in, 4/26 check-out) Thanks! Downtown Toronto North 3 stars 7 rating Restaurant Business Center Fitness Center With Bed Choice
  12. But unfortunately you won't comment on what you think it is, since you can't see it?
  13. Why do I continue to get the result and you don't? (I'm searching for "Montclair, NJ" if that could *possibly* make a difference. Check-in 4/27, check-out 4/29. 1 room. 3 adults.) The result, again, is: 2.5-star Secaucus - Meadowlands $98/3 people 95% recommended $154 on other sites Free Parking Free Breakfast Indoor pool(s) Pool(s) Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking
  14. Comments on the Priceline strategy mentioned above for Silver Spring?
  15. The $117 room I posted about above is indeed not showing up anymore. (If it pops back up again later, what do you think it might be?) I'm not getting this result that you posted either. (The dates are 4/24 check-in and 4/26 check-out, if it wasn't clear.)
  16. 3-star (both the Courtyard and Doubletree are perfect location-wise), up to $120... but the bid history is much cheaper. Any ideas on the Hotwire property above? (And it probably wasn't clear: 4/29 check-in, 5/1 check-out.)
  17. I still see the first one (2.5-stars, $98/3 people, 95% recommendation, $154 on other sites). The dates are 4/27 check-in and 4/29 check-out. (Could you have searched one day earlier, given the dates you typed above?) Thanks for the "run of the house" explanation. :)

  19. It seemed more helpful to put this in a new thread, but let me know if I should have appended it. 2.5-star Secaucus - Meadowlands Same dates: 4/27 and 28 $98/3 people 95% recommended Free Parking Free Breakfast Indoor pool(s) Pool(s) Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Says it costs $154 on other sites: Could this be the Secaucus La Quinta? (That's the direct price on its Web site; The Clifton LQ is only $105 direct.) Any thoughts on whether this is better than Crown Plaza Fairfield at $100 (which you suspect in my other search)? Both have free parking and Internet. LQ would come with fridges and microwaves, plus free breakfast. We're doing a concert in Montclair on the 28th and then one in the City on the 29th (leaving immediately after for D.C.) Interestingly, changing it to 2 people (I've been searching 3 people to ensure two beds) gets this. Do you think it's the Clifton La Quinta instead? Would it not show up for 3 people because they have no rooms with two beds left? Thanks for all your input! 2.5 stars $65 75% recommendation Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet Indoor pool(s) Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking

Might try Priceline first. There haven't been any recently reported wins. Where would you suggest starting these days? Thanks so much!
  21. Staying in Boston area night of 4/26 Is the 4-star the Westin (even though the hotel says it charges $10 for Internet)? And I know they're not on your master lists, but could the 2.5-star Waltham be the Holiday Inn Express? And the 2.5 in Medford the La Quinta? Better ideas of what they might be? 22. Staying in Toronto 4/24-25. A search for both dates gives these two results. Is the first the Delta Chelsea and the second the Holiday Inn Express on Lombard? 3.5 stars $106/3 people 80% recommendation Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower 2.5 stars $104/3 people 85% recommendation Free Breakfast Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access I've been searching for 3 even though we're only a party of 2, to ensure two beds. However, dropping the occupancy to 2 for these dates results in prices of $95 and $87 respectively (a big difference for the second). What tactic would you suggest? If I decided to try Priceline, I see the Delta Chelsea is the only 3.5-star currently on your list (I know you can always be upgraded to a higher quality hotel when you bid). Good chance of getting that property with a 3.5-star bid? In your experience, is there generally a common discount for people winning the same hotel on Priceline vs. Hotwire? (20 percent?) Again, I'm definitely not looking for any absolutes, just your experiences. Thanks so much!
  23. You get compensated for the searches, too?! Did not know. I have a LOT of searching to do this week. :D
