  1. What would these hotels be do you think? 3*/$235 per night - Times Square/Theater Disctrict Botique Pool Spa Complimentary Breakfast Business Center 4*/276 per night - Midtown East Fitness Center Business Center Tennis Nearby Restaurant High Speed Internet
  2. My Max for a 4* hotel is going to be $250 after taxes. My Max for a 3* hotel is going to be $230 after taxes. At this point, I'm wondering if I should just start with a 3* hotel in my favorite area, and then just go from there. What do you think?
  3. I have a similar topic for a 4* hotel, but I'm not even thinking about that at this point. I have used the Tips/FAQ from this board. With that, I just tried to get a 3* hotel in all areas of NYC except the Bronx, Downtown, and New Jersey (I included midtown east, west, upper east/west side, MSG, Times Square, and whatever else there was). I went up to $190 with my total coming out to around $225 or so/night with NO success. Am I in over my head here? How high do I need to go (without being too silly)? I still have 3 days left of bidding before I will need to pay full price. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  4. Staying in Jersey City really isn't an option. If I'm going to have no shot with a $180/night bid to get a 4* that Thursday/Friday, I may just drop to 3*. I think with $180 (plus taxes) I'm up to around $215. Do you think that $200/night would do it?
  5. Well, my backup is to drop to a 3*. Personally, I don't want to do that, but I might have to.
  6. I've been bidding for a couple of weeks now. I'm trying to get a 4 star hotel for 2 nights, 8/14 and 8/15. I've followed the directions, and started my bidding at 150...going all the way up to around 185 (with the total with taxes coming out to around 210/night). Am I shooting for the stars here? I basically want to be near Times Square...but do NOT want to be downtown OR in the Bronx. I've added pretty much every area besides that...and still haven't gotten anything. Any tips? Am I lowballing too much for a Thursday and Friday night? I thought about splitting them up...but I don't want to be stuck going to two different hotels on two different nights...and I've read that you can't always extend the trip for the same price. Thanks.
  7. Yes or No? If no, isn't that what I paid the extra $15 for?
