  1. $90 a night, + $28 parking. LeMontrose Suite hotel Didn't feel like a 4* hotel, it's a converted apartment building. Tiniest bathroom ever, felt like I was staying at a relative's house and using their powder room. Cottage cheese ceilings, yuck! Above the bed looked like a soffit that they took the kitchen florescent lighting out but were too lazy to drywall. Lighted candles don't make a 'boutique' hotel. Just sorry this is in a zone I need to bid in frequently.
  2. I think you will like the hotel. It's well located. Standard rooms have a couch, sitting area and full kitchen. It's clean and modern and includes a full breakfast. Good luck and keep us posted.
  3. Could you please let me know how your bidding goes? I like that Residence Inn a lot, I'm just a bit afraid of getting upgraded to the Hyatt West Hollywood (which is technically 3*.) I stay in that zone quite frequently and would love some tips on how to get that Residence Inn.
  4. Coast I also bid that area for 4/19. I bid a month ago and was rejected. Then I bid last week and won 4/19 Century Plaza for $120.
  5. I'm sure you are right, it was probably the residence inn, a 2 1/2 * , but it was very nice. I am afraid of bidding in that zone because of the Hyatt west hollywood.
  6. I thought the Crown Plaza was a 2.5 star hotel, we stayed there in Nov. Very nice hotel. I think I got the supposed 3 star Hyatt W. Hollywood once, didn't like it. So the next time I bid 2.5* and got the Crown Plaza.
  7. Thanks for your help. I've never used hotwire, only priceline. Since the $156 was hotwire's price I figured I could get it cheaper using priceline. First bid $110 4* Beverly Hills/West Hollywood (felt this was low but don't want to get accepted on first bid then I would have overpaid!) Rejected, counteroffered to bid right then by upping bid by $22. Figured they were baiting me so I refused and re-bid. Second bid $120 , added Westwood area. Bid accepted and you were indeed right, Hyatt Century Plaza. One night March 21. Pleased with win. I would have been happy with the 2 1/2 star Crown Plaza but don't like to take the chance of getting the Hyatt West Hollywood--stayed there once and was NOT happy. Thanks again for your assistance. Forgot to add--used your PRICELINE link.
  8. for Friday March 21 for one night, $156. Fitness center, restaurant, high speed internet, pool business center, golf nearby. The thing that confuses me it says only 17% savings from $189, I don't think you can get a 4* hotel there for $189. I've never used hotwire.
  9. Follow-up on my priceline hotel stay. Great property, not a resort (no pool) etc. but very well located for out of town guests, very close to Beverly Hills shopping, several really nice malls, etc. Downside $22 parking. Very comfortable room with the kitchen as a bonus. Highly recommended. My purpose was visiting my daughter so I was delighted with this property. Nice amenities such as complimentary computers in the lobby.
  10. :) :o :) I bid $70 for a 2 1/2* Beverly Hills/West Hollywood. got accepted first try! Very happy because the AAA rate is $161. Savings barn link. Bid $70 2 1/2* Area Beverly Hills West Hollywood Nov 30-Dec 1 for 1 night Accepted first try Residence Inn Beverly Hills 1177 S. Beverly Drive Los Angeles Subtotal $70 taxes & services $17.51 Total Charges : $87.51 Thanks for the reply esp Colfax I wasn't even going to bother to bid, was just going to pay the rack rate and got the hotel I wanted! (it's within walking distance of my daughter's place.)
  11. For Friday November 30 for one night. Don't want to stay in West Hollywood especially. Would like Residence Inn in B.H. I noticed you advised if you bid 3* you are likely going to end up in WH, 4* BH. Is that still true? Stayed in the Hyatt WH once and hated it, weird decor, expensive parking and no where convenient to eat breakfast.
  12. Ibid 3 star airport $65 rejected bid 3 star airport & airport north $75-rejected bid 3 star added downtown $80-rejected Bidding strategy?
  13. Well I guess downtown would be fine too. Anywhere close to airport or port. Bidding strategy?
  14. Well I guess maximum bid would be maybe $75-80. How far is downtown from the airport? I really don't care where we stay (as long as it's safe and clean) but want it convenient to airport and cruise port. Why do you say it's a tough nite to be bidding?
  15. Tried bidding $50, $55, $60. No luck, there are only 2 free rebids in the FL airport area. Just need a place to sleep pre-cruise as we come in late (12:30 am) and will leave in the a.m. Need two rooms. Suggestions? I noticed someone was successful on 12/30. Tried to edit topic, I accidentally put 12/19. I meant to put Sat 12/29.
  16. I bid $70 4* Inner Harbor rejected Rebid $75 added free zone BWI airport Accepted $75 4* Renaisssance Harborfront Hotel Feb 3 for 3 nights $225 + 38.93 taxes = $263.93 Used savings barn link Thanks
  17. Well I've bid up to $75 with no luck so far. I'm not in a rush, how long before I can begin the bidding again? Also do you think the week-end or week-days are more expensive in Baltimore? Don't they now have a feature if you bid for one night they may give you the option of extending the stay for a couple of more nights so could I just bid for sat night first? I used the savingsbarn link. Thanks
  18. Prefer innerharbor all 3 nights Feb 3, 4 and 5. Prefer 3 or 4 star hotel.
  19. This will be a three night stay. Flying into BWI Sat arriving 5 pm and flying out of BWI Tuesday at 9 a.m. It looks like the inner harbor area is more expensive than the airport so would consider staying at an airport hotel on Sat or Monday night, particularly Monday since we have such an early flight out on Tuesday. I would like a 3 or 4 star hotel.
  20. Can you help me with a bidding strategy? Have an interview at the U of Maryland on the 5th. Guess the best area is the inner harbor. Flying into BWI from California, all tips appreciated.
  21. :) Belli & Jimmy I think I'm on the same cruise! Belli, you say you want to stay "where the action is" --which zone do you think that is because I need a hotel room too. Are you and Jimmi traveling together?
  22. I booked the Holiday Inn express for AAA rate of $89 , 24 hr shuttle and cont. breakfast. Had enough priority points for a free stay and there's rooms available and they won't let me use them. This place seems to get good reviews. Maybe I could get something a bit cheaper but this seems like a sure bet. It seems to me the risk factor plus pricelines fees make me only want to book priceline when I feel like I'm getting a deep discount. Thanks for your help.
