  1. bid $30 for airport area 3* -- rejected added Bothell (because it only goes to 2 1/2 *) and increased bid to $33 --rejected added Lake Union (same reason), increased bid to $36 -- rejected added Lynwood (same reason) , increased bid to $39 -- rejected added U of WA (only goes to 2*), increased bid to $42 -- ACCEPTED total cost including taxes etc is $55.19 Has airport shuttle (Complimentary, I believe), self parking $14/night, valet $18/night website said it was recently renovated, the photos look nice, just needed a place to stay for one night pre cruise Lowest internet rate was $99
  2. Started bid at $69 for 4 star hotel in the HB area, increased bid by $2 each time until I got the Hyatt Regency HB for $79 ($98 with taxes, etc). That is exactly the hotel we hoped to get as it is across the street from the beach. We know that we have to pay valet parking of about $12/night also. We stayed at this hotel for $69 last fall (again thru Priceline) and thought it was a very nice hotel. Checked the website after we got this. The least expensive room for this date was $195 website price.
  3. We are going to San Diego for short weekend (4/16 -4/17)with kids to visit SeaWorld, etc. at the tailend of our spring vacation. Wanted 2.5 star hotel and was willing to stay in Downtown SD, Coastal, or Mission Valley. Bid $35 for Downtown only- rejected Bid $38 and added Coastal - rejected Bid $40 and added Coronado (because that only has 3 and 4 star hotels) -- rejected Bid $43 and added Miramar (because that only has 1 and 2 stars) -- rejected Bid $46 and added Mission Valley --ACCEPTED ! We got upgraded to a 3 star and got the Double tree Hotel in Mission Valley on 7450 Hazard Center Drive, close to a major mall. The hotel has $10 parking/day, 2 pools, 2 restaurants, pet friendly, 11 floors, and free cookie at bedtime. Looked on Website and their lowest price is $149/night for that date. We bid $46 and with taxes, our total is $58.53. Now if we could only get discounted tickets to Seaworld (the least expensive I can find so far is $50/person ( almost the cost of our hotel room. . .sigh).
  4. there uare, I have a question for you. In this area of Newport Beach/Huntington beach where I was interested in getting a hotel, as far as I know by researching the TOBB board (because at the time I didn't know yours existed) before making the above bid, there are only 2 "4 *" hotels available. . . either the Newport Hyatt which had been going for about $50-52/night or the Huntington Beach Hyatt that has been going for about $69-72/night. I bid the above bid starting at $64 assuming that I would end up with the HB Hyatt since my bid was closer to the "going rate" for the HB Hyatt (eg substantially higher that what the Newport Hyatt ws going for). Could there been a possibility that I could have gotten stuck with the Newport Hyatt instead with my $64 bid (eg whcih would've been about $14 over what other bidders had gotten it for)? I was bidding under the impression that bids in the mid $60 range would automatically be geared towards the higher bid property, and if I had bid in the mid $40 ranges and go up, I would automatically be geared towards the property that usually sold for $50. I would've been an unhappy camper if I had ended up paying $64 for a property that usualy sold for $50.
  5. Just found this forum, so this bid is about 2 1/2 weeks old. We are sailing on the Caribbean Princess cruise August 21-28, and wanted a FLL hotel 2 nights post cruise. Started bidding at $35 on FLL downtown 3*--rejected. Added Miramar for $40, and P.Beach for $45 as my free rebids, both rejected. Added FLL beach for $50 thinking there isn't any beach hotel for $50 and got the Holiday Inn Beach! At first I was bummed since we were hoping for the Downtown Embassy suites because of the extra room and free breakfast. But when i posted on a cruise forum, lots of people said we got a good deal, that the hotel is decent and close to shops, water taxi and of course, the beach (its across the street), so now, we're pleased.
  6. Just discovered this forum tonight. Thought I'd post my recent hotel bid. Think I'll spend more time here because I like the atmosphere over here better than at TOBB ( I kind of got scolded by the administrator for not using their link). Anyway, wanted a 4* for a hotel stay in the Newport Beach/Huntintington Beach area for a one night stay with my honey for a short 20th anniversary get-away (we're going on our major vacation on the Caribbean Princess later this August) . Started my bid at $64 and increased by $1 amounts using the free rebidding zones (fountain valley, etc) until it was accepted for $69/night for June 26-27th.
