  1. Success! After $100 bid, given free re-bid with bid suggestion as $122. Didn't choose free re-bid and added another re-bid zone per strategy. Bid $105 and it was accepted. Got the Marriott Resort!
  2. Hi there, can you suggest a bidding strategy for Waikiki Beach from Jan 25/10 - Feb 10/10. I don't want to stay in any other zone and would like a Resort and pay up to a maximum of $110. It's over 2 weeks so I know it might be hard to get but I'd like to try and not have to split my bid and risk having to move into another hotel. Thanks for your help.
  3. Finally a successful bid tonight for Apr 7 - 13, 3* Hudson Hotel UM-CPS $210. Hotel looks nice and tres chic but but rooms look a little small. Thanks for all your help!!! Bidding strategy: Select 3* MTW and UM-CPS and Times Square... Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $180, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-acces PRICELINE. Select 3* MTE and MTS... Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $180, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-acces PRICELINE. Select 3* MTE and MTW and UM-CPS and Times Square and MTS... Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $201, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $210 Accepted
  4. Looking for least expensive 3* or better. Still bidding the same zones up to $200. Thanks!
  5. I think splitting our bid looks like a good option given the other reported wins on the board for less nights. We are there from Apr 7 - 13. Can you suggest a bidding strategy for a split bid. Much appreciated.
  6. It was in MTE but looks like this deal is gone now on Hotwire.....sigh....
  7. Tried again tonight to bid for a 4* up to $240 and 3* up to $200 with no luck. Splitting a bid will be an option but I haven't given up yet. Here's another option. There's a 3* on HOTWIRE for $183 from Apr 7 -11. We could take that and then bid on Priceline for the remaining 2 nights. Any idea what this hotel might be - description is fitness centre, coin laundry, kitchenette, business centre, high speed internet?
  8. No luck again. I checked hotwire for a week from now and the prices are pretty good and in the range....better than 2 weeks from now. I think I'll wait it out a little longer and try again in a few days. I'm pretty sure I'll find something in PRICELINE or HOTWIRE. There's plenty of hotels in NY. I'll use your strategy again in a few days unless you have any other suggestions. Really appreciate your help so far.
  9. You're right and I agree with the reviews about the craziness of Times Square. We stayed there last time and it was very very crowded. Please provide a bidding strategy for the least expensive in all zones, up to max of $200, 3* - thanks
  10. Just to clarify my previous message, 'all other zones' means the previous zones I bid on...I don't want to add Brooklyn, Long Island, etc. Thanks.
  11. Still no luck with a win. I actually bid $230 after the last reject by adding the 4th re-bid zone. Plan B - can you suggest another bidding strategy for 3*, up to max of $200 first in Times Square. If you think we should up our limit a bit for this zone, then please advise and we'll do that. If no win, can you suggest the bidding strategy for 3* in all other zones. I'm going to keep trying though our trip is less than 2 weeks away.....
  12. I guess that's what I was after when I suggested I was ready to bid on the remaining zones. I think I confused things when I listed the preference. Sorry!
  13. This wasn't actually what I meant but that's ok. Let's go with the bidding strategy you just suggested. Thanks.
  14. Hi I'd like to bid all the other zones now with a limit of $200 with preference in order of MTE, MTW, MTS, UM CPS. If I'm not successful, I'm prepared to start with Times Square again and up my bid even more but I'll remain optimistic with the other zones for now. Your previous instructions/bidding strategy was very easy to follow this morning. Thanks! Ready to start bidding again.
  15. Hi - no luck with a win in Times Square. Can you suggest a bidding strategy for the other zones now with a limit of $200 as well? Thanks!
  16. Yes that's correct. Ready to start bidding. Thanks so much for your assistance!
  17. Ahh....I understand the categories now. Thanks for making this clear. Max for Times Square is $200. $175 for the rest of the zones. Hope this is realistic.
  18. Actually zone is probably a little more important than price. We expect to pay a bit more in Times Square. Why doesn't this topic appear in the main forum page for New York. It took me a while to find it?
  19. Hi there, I've tried Priceline once before but hope you can suggest a bidding strategy for New York Apr 7-13, 4* in the order of preference for zones: TS, MTE, MTW, MTS, UM CPS. Would like to spend up to $175 if this sounds reasonable for this time of year. Saw a win for the Sheraton for $160 for 2 nights but our stay is for 6 nights which is a little more difficult.
