A friend was booked here paying $329 plus tax. I looked at HW and saw this hotel for $285.00

I told my friend I could probably get this hotel for less but he could get the Loews or another "RESORT/4.5*" in the zone. He said go fot it. Started at $129 and used 8 of my 9 free rebids at 139, 149,159, 169, 179, 189, 194 and 199. Stopped before my last rebid was used. Started a new bid and chose (my last rebid zone from the 1st bid of) SW Miami and South Beach, Resort only at $204, that was rejected so I then started using the 8 previous rebids at $209, $214, $219 and finally hit at $224.

Saved him about a hundred so he's happy.

Hotel Name: Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan

    New York, New York 10019

    Your Offer Price: $209.00

    Number of Rooms: 1

    Taxes and Service Fees: $117.53

    Total Charges: $744.53

searched Hotwire first and the lowest price in this area was $239 for a 3.5*. Figured I could get it on PL for at least 10-15% less. Id'ed it as the Crowne Plaza Time Square. Then did a search for a package on Priceline with air & hotel. The Crowne Plaza was the least expensive 3* in the MTW area that displayed. So I started with 4* MTW at $150 then used my rebids at $175 and $200. No luck. So I started a new bid with 3* MTW only at $190 and was rejected but got a counteroffer at $235. I split the middle(a little low) and bid $209 using the free rebid of UWS and won.

Best available was $309 at the time of booking. Today it shows sold out. Won this back on 4/20

  4. purchased at 5:50pm day of arrival. A friend had a room at the EconoLodge for $59 plus tax. He called and said it was terrible so I told him I thought I could do better(bidding).

total was $60.95 with taxes less $10 for using the "giftcard05" first time pruchaser code. Not a big savings but it was across the street from the EconoLodge and alot nicer according to my friends. Best price on daysinn.com was $52 plus tax.

    $60.95-$10 = $50.95

so at boardwalklv.com (of course using the link provided here) the Luna park room is priced at a total of $239 before tax. I am assuming this is the room that is given to HW customers. If not even the lower tower room is $300 before taxes. So a DTD claim could net:

    Luna Park room : 320-239 = 81 x 2 = dtd refund of $162.00 or a net for 5 days of $191.95 (353.95-162)

at boardwalklv.com with tax direct is $260.51 so a total savings of 68.56

the friends I'm going to attempt this for are currently at the Stratosphere for about $69 but want to move to more center strip but keep about the same price.

  8. nothing has really changed so unless you want to bid into the $60 to $70 range I would wait. By the way , what are your five free re-bid zones? Just want to make sure your on the same page here. I'd hate for you to get the wrong part of town.

since you have 6 shots at it I'd start at $45 then $50 then $55, $60 (you might start to get a counter-offer here but ignore it, the counter offer would show some availability so that would be good news) then $65 and $70.

the 2.5* on HOTWIRE (search for 2 adults and 1 child) is at $55 so if you can use the "giftcard05" first time buyers code that would get it to $45 plus tax. Best guess is the Clarion which is a nice place (i've had 2 meetings there in the last year) plus a shuttle.

  9. sorry I forgot about this hope it helps:
