:o I LOVE THIS SITE... so far in the past 1.5 years, I have booked the most amazing stays for pre-cruise, weekends-away, etc. And once again, I came, I read and I CONQUERED! I am a hero at home every time I do this!! Here are the details for this summer's get away to San Antonio, Texas. Dates: 7/28/04-7/30/04 Your Offer Price: $55.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $110.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $25.78 Total Charges: $135.78 ISN'T THIS WONDERFUL :) !!!!!!! I used the suggestions found here by a fellow member: bid 3* hotel in the Medical Center area, was denied. Priceline then offered me to get me my reservation if I increased my price by $14.....TRICKY, TRICKY...... :) but I stayed my course.... I selected another area: East San Antonio (which has no 3* hotels in it :) ) and increased my bid by $5 and BINGO...It gave it to me for $55/night! :) Hi! Anyone got info. on South Padre Island hotels thru Hotwire? Looking for July and even early August, 2 nights, maybe Thrusday - Saturday. Would like beach front, with free breakfast. Any help would be appreciated?

I just bid on Priceline for the Dallas Northwest area trying for a 3* hotel and was unsuccessful with bids all the way to $40. So I lowered the *level to 2 1/2* and bid $27 dollars. My bid was accepted and I got the Weslley Inn & Suites Las Colinas --one of those extended stay/all suite hotels for a friday and saturday nights stay. The hotel was not bad at all: clean, quiet, full kitchen, big tv, sofa bed, king bed and continental breakfast which included freshly made from scratch waffles. My totals were as follows: $27.00 per night 2 nights $54.00 total $5.95 processing fee $5.98 taxes $65.93 total charges I hope this helps anyone traveling to Dallas since there are so few posts for Texas. thanks, Vivi

:) I have help on the shuttle part of your question. There is a service called Leasure Tours Shuttle and they charge $5/person from the hotel to the pier, with no restriction on # of luggage pieces per person. You might try them at (305) 496-0825. Speak to Carmen. I am going to be in Miami in August as well but got the Sheraton for $35 on priceline for 2 rooms, dates Aug. 29. I got the tid-bit about this shuttle from a hotel employee, called Carmen and she told me that I just needed to call her 2 days in advance to schedule the pick up. Hope this helps you out! For arrival (pre cruise) AUGUST 29, one night, downtown Miami: SHERATON BISCAYNE BAY Offer price: $35 a night # of rooms: 2 rooms # of nights: 1 night subtotal: $70.00 Taxes: $8.76 Proc. Fee: $11.90 TOTAL: $90.66 So, total charges (incl. taxes and fees) per room were: $45.33 ! I am very happy (if you couldn't tell by now!) and I want to recommend this site to all. :) Okay, I tried the tatics you mentioned and bid $27 for 3* downtown miami, got rejected. Re bid by adding two and a half star zone and upped the bid to $30, got rejected. Tried the last zone that did not include 3* and bid $40, got rejected. Is it the dates that affecting me? I want one night for Aug. 29, 2003. My cruise leaves on the 30th. Obviously, can't try again until Friday, I've got time since this is several months away, but I'm worried that this won't work for me. Suggestions, doing something wrong? I checked the hotel site and there are rooms available.....HELP! I would appreciate some tips, suggestions or ideas you have. thanks, :) Lost in Texas! Vivi

:) Hi! I need some help to bid in Priceline. I must tell you that i need two rooms since we are traveling with another couple. Date of cruise 8/30/03. Will be driving into Miami from Ft. Laud. on Aug. 29 to spend the night there. Would like close to the port, near to somewhere good to eat, 3 or 4 stars and $50 or so. I might be asking too much. Please let me know what help you can give me.
